I had a Road King and it was great..but very boring to ride.

My wife just sold her Crossbones. It was a 96" with stage 1, Race Tuner and V&H Big Radius Pipes. IT WAS THE SCHIZ-NIT...fast, fun, responsive and fast.

The Crossbones is a seriously fun bike.

2 years ago I went with a 2007 Honda Sabre, new $ 6,999 at Wild West Honda

http://www.topspeed.com/motorcycles/...e-ar18946.html

That was the last year they were made as the 1100
There are still some new ones left

This is a decent performer as meduim crusiers go and it is almost maintenance free

Shaft drive
Hydraluic valve train = no adjustments
pegs are high enough you get a lot of lean before they drag
Regular gas
Overhead cams and dual carbs
Top seed about 110

Its not a high performace cruiser but pleanty of fun.

Good Luck

Remember guys, he said a "SMALLER CRUISER". Some of the ones yall are listing weigh in around 700-800 lbs and are huge. Maybe he meant a mid size cruiser?? Im 6'2'' and my Nightster fits well with the forward controls I have on it. But its all up to the OP. Find the Price range then search the bikes in that area

Had a 2006 Honda Shadow Aero 750. Retro styling, clean lines, shaft drive and very responsive at about 550lbs Put mine through 25,000 miles (it was my daily ride, and my corner ride on the weekends ) with absolutely no hiccups. Oh yeah, and comes in at about $6,700

Was just at Stubbs 59 getting some bearings pressed out, sat on two Nightsters, the one with forward controls felt MUCH nicer. Sat on an M90, a bit bigger and heavier than I'd like. I don't think the M50 has the power I'm looking for. What else should I look at? The Kawi Mean Streak is a beautiful bike but I'm sure it would be too heavy.

Oh yeah. Too pricey though. I'm looking at MSRP under or around 12k.
