Exclamation Speedo Issue

I remember someone else posting about this same issue not too long ago but can't find the thread. My speedometer is acting all wonky it bounces around when I'm holding the throttle steady, If I'm doing around 60 mph it will be bouncing around from 50 to 60 and if I cut the throttle completely and just coast it will drop all the way down to 0 like i'm not moving WTF? it doesn't happen all the time but now I'm starting to be a little worried about how accurate my speed is when it isn't bouncing around. FYI the Tach, temp guage, trip meter, milage, and clock all work fine.

Dude I don't know if I am nearing the end of healing but I have been so tired lately. I mean exhausted. Everything seems harder when exhausted.

People tend to frown upon doing wheelies at freeway speeds two up

for having the though.

People on here also frown on others who don't where gear, who speed wether it's 5 over or 100 over, run from the cops, go to pp1 on wenesday nights, try wheelies even if your alone. The list goes on. But let me tell you. I've been around for awhile on mh. I've had other login names before this one.. Those who frown upon me on this site are the ones right next to me doing the same thing I'm doing.

I see peoe every wenesday nights riding routes with me jacket or boots ( I fall into this) I also ride routes 2 up and same goes for sunday back road riding.. The inky gear I have on is a shoei helmet, and some FOX off roading gloves.. People get hurt when you say the truth about how you ride. He'll even the mods of this site run from cops and don't wear gear.. Haha I've seen it. Who is anyone to judge me.. I don't judge y'all, you ride your ride, and I'll ride mine.. I'm trying to prove a point here.. People need to stop jumping on the ban wagon and worry about themselves.. I see so many people "hate" on others.. All I ever tell people is do a track day or 2, it'll save your life (if I wasn't for ridesmart, I can honestly say, I'd probly not be here right now.. My best friend flew off the 45 to 610 east bridge, bc a car cut him off (so he says) if he would have done 1 track day then there would of been a 90% chance he would of made that turn...

Could be your speedo sensor that runs off your wheel speed is bad, could be a bad connection on that sensor. I wouldnt go as far as replacing a wiring harness for this issue, has the bike been down? How long has it been doing this?

Bike has not been downed by me, but there are signs that it has been down . I Have had the bike a little over 2 months and I just started having this problem it did it about 5 days ago I unplugged the wire leading to the speedo and reconnected it problem stopped till this morning on my way to work. Rode it last night and it seemed to work then but I never got above 40 mph.

Sounds like a faulty ground wire or bad connection, I would try cleaning the connections and wiggling each wire and trying to indentify which one is giving you problems, make sure there is no exposed copper or burned insulation
