Gas tank lock

I got a gas tank off eBay and planning to have it painted. The seller left the lock/cap on but didn't give me the key..he sold it with the ignition. So anyways I'm planning to drill it out. Anyone knows how? Just drill right down the middle where the key hole is? How big of a bit?
Also anyone know how to remove the fuel sensor? I don't see any bolt and so don't want to yank on it and break something.
Thanks
btw, this is for 2008 ninja 250.

large flathead screwdriver and a crescent wrench will break it open. Had to do this on a tank I bought off ebay for my r1. They come open pretty easily.

Theres one alan bolt underneath the lock. You have to unlock and open it to get to it.
