It's all been said.

So, too bad he went down. I think the bike will buff right out. No problems. Is the rider okay? Did he ride the bike home? Or did he have to go to the hospital?

even though my first bike (ever. and i mean ever. i never even so much as rode a dirt bike before) was a SS, i am a firm believer in a tiered licensing system like europe. does that make me a hypocrite? maybe. or it could just be hind sight and seeing what happens to noobs on bikes like these.

There will always be exceptions to the rule, but I always try to steer people toward beginner bikes when they are getting started.
When you start out on a slow - small cc bike, you have no choice but to learn the important stuff first. If you want to go fast on a 250, 500, etc,. you gotta know how to lean and carry corner speed to keep a good pace.
A noob on a liter bike is just gonna crank the throttle and fight to control that beast. Some can do it, but a lot can't..
This is a good example of those who can't.

Yes, they do

There is just a perception with some people that wearing gear on the street automatically means you ride it like the track... usually comes from the same thought processs that the only place to ride a SS is the track.

Called opinions, and everyone has one.. ya know the old saying.

Every summer it's the same ol' same ol'. The groups get bigger, the more noobs show up, and we get more rider down threads and the associated back and forth "stupid, take it to the track, slow down, you can't ride a SS bike on the street.. blah blah.."

I've been as guilty as the next guy and have come to the point of offering pointers and help to those that want, and not bothering to give the "RIP" to those that don't because they already know it all.
