Aluminum Ride

I have several weeks open this summer and toyed with doing an Iron ride till I started plotting how much riding that actually involves. Cheers for the guys who can do one but ahh no!

I can't stand the thought of driving for 1,000 miles in a day so I can't imagine what I would feel like after riding that long.

But I figure I can do 500 miles in a single day. Digging around I have seen mention of Aluminum rides but the mileage is all over the place. Does anyone know if there is anything official mileage for an Aluminum Ride? or is it just whatever you want to make it?

My dad is doing one (iron ) this summer... & its only a small portion of a long distance ride he is doing anyways. He's gonna do 14,500 miles from here to key west, FL. Then FL to the Arctic Circle in Alaska, than all the way back to Houston in about 45 days.

Hes gonna be on a BMW GS though... (duh)

Sometimes i find it hard to believe I'm related to this kook. lol.

ok so no official word?

Then I will call it the ALBUTT 500 and ride one this summer - I will print my own certificate and frame it proudly. Maybe even make myself my own trophy! A cast aluminum

I'm doing a 4 day run next week in 100+ degree heat with a 200+ degree engine between my legs. Most of the bikes on the run are HD. Knuckles, shovels, ironheads, evos, BT's most are hardtail bikes. Here's a vid from last years run we did through the hill country including the three sisters.

This year is East Bound and Down. I'm leaving from conroe Wednesday and headed to Brenham. Come on.
