cyclegear tire policy

i got a flat on my rear tire, so i'm going to get a new set of tires. I compared prices between american moto tires and cycle gear. Difference is about $40; cycle gear being higher. I heard that cycle gear has a tire policy where they will give you a new tire if you have 85% thread left otherwise it is prorated. Is this included in the cost of tire or is this an additional expense? If it's extra, how much extra is it for the set? Also, I think they charge 15 if you buy from them per tire and 20 if you buy somewhere else. Is that correct?

Okay, I work and at the Cycle Gear on 45 South @ Edgebrook. Yes, if you purchase a NEW tire at Cycle Gear, Motogaurd Road Hazard is availble for the tire. It is 15% of the new tire cost, so Motogaurd on a $100 tire is 15 bucks. And yes, if you get a flat in the first 25% of the tread depth (or 85% remaining) you get the tire for free and after that it is pro-rated. So the worst you can do is have to pay full price a tire. It is $20 to mount and balance the tire, and $30 dollars if you buy one from somewhere else (sorry, prices just went up).

I also should mention that we DO NOT mount on/off the motorcycle, unfortunately, we don't have a full shop to do so. However, you can bring thew rims to us and we do the rest. I personally can vouch for the safety and quality of the work done at Cycle Gear. I also personally change tires, and there is always someone at the store to do so. I hope I have answered your question fully and hope you visit and shop at our location. If you do, ask for Bryan! I'm the short black guy!

its 20 a tire to mount and balance if you buy the tire from us with tire OFF the bike. 30 a tire if you just bring us wheels and tires from whom ever.

If you buy the tire from us, at the time of mounting, we offer a road hazzard plan for 10% the cost of the tire. If you get any punctures within the first 25% of the tires life we will replace it for free, sans the labor charge. you are responsible for that. After 25% wear, it will be prorated to 2/32nds of an inch.

I hope this helps you.

713-941-3364 is my location at 45 South @ Edgebrook (southbound side of the feeder). We are close to Almeda mall if you are unfamiliar with the area.

omfg.

the correct cost of motoguard is 10% of the regular price of the tire. sorry for the confusion there guys.

should you need to use the warranty, we measure the tread depth of your tire to a new tire of the same type, or the closest match possible. if you have used less than 25% of the tread of your tire, you get the new tire free. (you still have to pay for and balance, and motoguard for the new tire). beyond 25%, we pro-rate it.

in case anyone is wondering, here is our helmet exchange policy:
http://www.cyclegear.com/nohassle.cfm

and our 100% satisfaction guarantee:
http://www.cyclegear.com/satisfaction.cfm

on a side note, sorry i havnt been on lately, guys. no internet at home for a couple more weeks. and i havnt been out since my bike is still not legal. gimme some time ill be back in action. in the meantime, you know where i can be found...
