Id love to see it. I Think you where behind me for a lap or two.

Indeed. And he did mention that we could pass, but to be very careful when doing so, and nothing crazy. With that said, myself and others I know, did pass selectively, and only when safe.

It was clear though, who were new to the track and who had some experience, just by noting their lines through the turns. What kinda got me going like this... ... was when a noob would stuff others while passing on the inside of a turn, where his interpretation of the right line was simply sticking to the inside curve of each and every turn.

Speeds were moderate though, so although it seemed crazy from observation, it wasn't all that bad while on the track.

One idea to consider, next time you have such a large Parade Lap group, is to break it down to smaller groups, with each being led by an Instructor to show the proper lines. And instead of such a large group going out there at one time, each group would only have 5 minutes each while being led.... Not as fun as getting a full 20 minutes though!

not as fun, but safer than having rookies all bunched up

The best part of parade laps...they're free. May not have been the most controlled environment but for me it's hard to complain about a gift

+1, and sorry if I spooked anyone. I tried to conduct my passing in a safe manner although I can see how someone new could have been spooked. The good thing is we all left in one piece so it all worked out. Thanks Bevo for organizing, and Tim for hosting.

no you can't complain about them doing the parade laps at all. Bevo, I know you were up front, so out of sight, out of mind

No, I had a great time and as posted...this was for new riders. I'm just trying to follow in Cali's footsteps and promote fun but safe motorcycling

Every time I've been to GSS there's always been a pretty strong breeze coming in from the Gulf, so it wasn't too bad

Zaxos, you're so misinformed it actually hurts to read your posts.
Ladies and gents, I might be new to sport riding, the track and parade laps; however, I am not new to risk. I appreciate the extra set of eyes and ears from Zaxos perspective, safety is everyones responsibility. I for one was having the time of my life and when I saw the Corvette come up behind and pass me my thoughts where "cool as " I was also full of warm and fuzzy and enjoying the opportunity to actually feel what it is like to lean into a tight corner and the tires actually grip a little. We where all in our own little worlds experiencing our little moment....however, not the big picture.

That said, Zaxos perspective was seeing the big picture without being caught up in the moment. That perspective is priceless and I appreciate his insight as we all know accidents are chains of events that unfold due to multiple circumstances that are sometimes not any one personals faults.

We should always strive to improve ourselves weather it be our jobs skills, personal intellect and motorcycle skills. This also goes for safety and mitigating risks. At the least Zaxos got us all thinking and talking about risk and how to improve upon future scenarios and our personal actions.

I for one am motivated to take a class and learn how it should be done; because I learned yesterday that I have no clue....my wife (Speed Triple) on the the other hand knew she had no clue even before the parade lap.

I thought BEVO and Tim did a great job and appreciate the time, effort, experience and knowledge they gave us. I equally appreciate Zaxos comments and concerns for our safety. Everything can be improved upon, my riding skills, street riding habits and even parade laps for NOOBs.

Thanks all and great to meet everyone!

Track Days are great for learning about the bike and yourself and how much better the bike is than 99.9% of us are.

That being said, if you ride with the right people on the street and ask those same questions, you can learn quite a bit as well. Just have to choose your poison carefully!

Wow, it looks like you guys had a ton of fun. I would have loved to watch the Corvette go around the track. Wish I would have made it.

I agreed on that point...on the chaos. But talking about not having to sign a form or having a riders meeting...he's wrong. Completely wrong. Just sayin'.
You are correct, we did have a riders meeting and did sign a waiver. So he was wrong on these two points.

My point is just because he was incorrect on two points where he did not witness a meeting or waiver don't write off what he did witness and comment on.

Thanks

Hey, at least I use my turn signals when I pass on the track

Next time if I get held up in a turn I'm using my horn
