Newb

Hey All!

I'm a very new rider. I took the MSF course a few weekends ago, but unfortunately decided to go after a scooter because I had a 150cc waiting for me.

After the course I found the scooter totally unappealing to me.

I tested a 197cc sport bike and I'm thinking that won't be enough power for me. I'd like the option of using the freeways.

I'm thinking a 250cc will work. I have absolutely no bike knowledge.

So, please educate me!

Thanks!!

Also, if anyone knows where I can find a 250cc sport bike at $2,000 or below let me know.

Start with a 250 buddy.
You can constantly keep checking on craigslist and youll find a 250 for that much. Dont go for the CHINESE (LIFAN) All PLASTIC and parts are not avail easily.

Welcome; ask yourself what kind of riding you want to do, then go from there. I'd suggest something that's versatile, street & light off road riding. That way you can go anywhere.

Welcome to MH I started on a 250 learned alot on it and boosted my confidence as a new rider. Since your new don't get something all shiny cause YOU WILL DROP IT not IF you WILL I recommend an 03 ninja 250 those still had the redline at 14k rpm not the 12k that the newer ones have.

Welcome to the forums! Like everyone said, good choice on starting on a 250. Its a great bike to learn how to through your bike around on the streets.

Like Nightster Ridester said, go to one of the SWC meets, you may like it. Hopefully we'll be making a trip back to Wolfies over by Lake Conroe soon.
