So Im thinking about getting a MAC computer.......

ive always been a die hard windows fan, ive been building and modding (windows) computers since I was 12 or whatever age you are in 6th grade. I used to be big into gaming, but nothing good is coming out anymore, since you have to pay to play, so ive gotten away from that a bit.

I went into the apple store at memorial mall, and it was all quite intresting. two button mouse thats touch sensitive, so it knows which finger your using, the interface of everything there..ive just gotten more into a mood of "let it work, leave it alone"

Im just wondering if anyone has a mac...if i do consider buying one, is this going to be a bad choice? I mean, everytime I need to upgrade I freaking throw away the old one, there are no upgrades. and then ill still have to keep my windows computer to play all my old games, and i dont know how well macs support games, they seem like more just a buisness computer.

opinions please?

thats CRAZY TALK....everytime i have used a MAC i find myself wanting to get one. NO stupid Blue Screen Of Death. The controls are just as easy as Windows. Windows Stole the whole Mac layout. The only drawback is compatabilty but i have been told in the past few years that has become a non-issue.

yea, playing with the ones in the store, al your stuff is right there, with buttons that orginize it for you..but at the same time...I like to make folders, and say "ok, my games go here, here are these pics, and there are those pics, and here is this and that"

and on a mac, its kinda like a "locked" interface of not really "customizing behind the curtin" type of deal...im not sure if I could enjoy that

i honestly didint play with it enough.

you see, i have such a bad attitude of them, because I remember useing those ****ing worthless apples in 6th grade. you know, the ones that only did calculator. the really RAELLY horrible first macs.
And we all knwo your very impressionable at a young age, so ever since then, ive had a strong distaste for them because the first ones were so horrible and boring, and not customizable like my windows was, at that time

she showed me how you can add a right click justl like windows, and that if you want to email a pic, or post it up, just select the pics, say "optimize size and quality" and it does it all for you. thats fking awesome.

My norton is up to date and i scan every 2 days or so and i still get BSoD. Mac's have better compatabilty with interface devices. Less complicated because its MADE FOR MAC. not tweeked to work with windows 9x or 2000 or NT or Xp ect

MACs are great machine. I'd say the only downside to owning a mac is when you want to upgrade, you pick up my you mac, throw it out, and buy a new one. You'll have to buy all your game over agian to support Mac OS. Most games arte supported on the Mac, but the mac version usually come out after the PC version.

i know these are all stupid common sense questions, but...
is there anyway to play my old windows games on a mac? (ive heard of some progs for mac that make it seem like windows, for that reason)\
can my expensive LCD monitor and sound system hook up to a mac?

i'll think of more....

wow no one mentioned this? get the new macs with the intel inside. seems like only available through their laptop lines, macbook. once you buy this they let u dl a program so u can dual boot windows now. most people already know this. which is a reason to go to mac now.

http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=303575

i might buy a mac laptop just for this reason, but maybe not. that link was a quick search, they might be out of beta already. to lazy to look.

Im posting this on a Mac PowerBook G4...I say never leave home without it. Its been a great laptop to us, and it does it all. From creating movies, music, photos, gaming, dvd, word processing, to anything on the internet.

PC...Mac...about the same IMO, its juss what you get used to working on.

for starters, norton does more harm then it does good, and then if your behind a NAT fire wall you shouldnt have to worry about any virus's you didnt download.

are you using windows ME or somthing?

I have used nothing but Linux at home for the last 10+ years.. I was curious enough to buy a Mac since it now runs on BSD Unix underneath the hood. I bought it (mac mini) back in December and loved it so much that I did not log into my Linux box again (other than ssh) until about 2 weeks. I love da Mac's. I've decided that I will keep Linux as my main desktop 'puter and selll the mac mini and get me a 17" macbook pro laptop.
