I want a ride for: Track and play, or just to ride here and there, or something to save on gas. Then you need to find the bike that best fits you or can be adjusted for your comfort and use. You can go all day explaining which bike is best for what, but until you sit on one that fits you and your needs..keep looking. Example... I got the Busa for these reasons. I like the look, but mostly I got for saving fuel (compared to my truck) and comfort of riding a thousand or so miles from everyday back and forth to work(4 mos and have over 5000). Plus I can still have the power to hang with just about anyone out there. If I was looking for track and play I would have got me a GXR1000.
was the busa ur first bike? And ,PLEASE, about the gsxr1000... i bet most experienced riders on a 600 can out ride any newbie on a 1000...

Anyways, i've been outta the motohouston loop... why's everyone hatin' on her?

Thats quite amusing. Question, why dont the manufacturers put some of the 1k skins on the 250's and 500's here in the states? I remember seeing quite a few of them in Hong Kong, or is that aftermarket stuff?

Because they won't sell.
Americans like bigger, faster bikes.
They consider 600cc supersport bikes as small.
In Asian countries, you hardly see 1K bikes (combination of traffic and huge tax).
Before I came to the US, largest bike I've ever owned in 10 years was 400cc (ZX4R).
Just a different mentality market, that's why.

Well,
considering the size of people, I guess you do need bigger bikes.

I think they would sell more than they are selling now.. I've been saying this forever. People buy bikes to cuz they're cool, then you tell 'em to get a 250. BAM! Busted ego, but they realize that it's the smart thing to do.. Then they see the available 250's with a 20 year old design.. BAM! That's the deal buster.

We don't need bigger bikes here.. just stiffer suspension.

Take the msf class and get some exp. actually ridin a bike before you decide on which bike to buy. You will benefit from it in the long run. Beginner bikes are prettty cheap.

The Busa was my first to own, but not ride. I just like the seat comfort best on the Busa. They say the Kawi, really gives the rider a lot of comfort, but I like that Busa.
I do agree, that an experienced rider will out perform a newbie any day (most times)regardless of size of CCs, including me. Plus I wouldn't suggest a 1000 for any newbie, unless that is what they really wanted...trust me I am not knocking smaller CCs...I just convienced my co-worker to buy a 600 instead of a 1000 (not Suzuki).

Okay, so some of you are not a GSXR fan, thats cool. Not saying that that bike would have made me any faster..but that is what I would have choosen. Let man have an opinion. Everyone can can argue all day that there bike is better than somone else's...but it is the combo of rider and bike that makes the difference:notworthy
