Well an update on today....

I went to a friend of a friends shop and got it done for $20. He vaccumed the lines and then oiled it. I had to buy the freon. So when we started adding in the first freon the mechanic said it didn't seem to be looking good. After diagnosing the problem, his conclusion was the expansion valve. So....... I started calling around all the auto parts stores and nobody had one. So I was like ehh... . So I called Mazda and of course they were closed. So this is where I'm at now. I have no clue where I can get this part from and freakin Mazda is closed till Monday and I wont have time to do this till next weekend. Ughh... its freakin hot!! :eh:

Oh well....

Big thanks to Josh and Leo for offering to help me out today. I really apreciate it guys. :notworthy

Hey Leo do you know of a place that sells these things or do I need to order it from the manufacturer?

Well, did you tried O'Reilly??? no much luck besides that place, because everything else is closed tomorrow, otherwise, Monday try BAP GEON, they have like four stores around houston, they deal with nothing but import parts, including hard to find, if for some reason you cannot find it, give me a call, i'll locate it for ya.

I already got the A/C compressor and had it installed by my friend. All I need is the expansion valve. We took it out already from underneath the glove box and now its a mess in my car and its gonna be a hot weak.

I'll try that place Leo because somebody at one of the auto parts I called referred them to me. Thanks for all the info guys.... its really appreciated. :icon_smil

I couldn't really tell... I remember it looking clean inside but not sure. I'll go out and check next time I'm outside. The area outside of it looked really dirty though. You think if there is no metal inside it should still be working?

no, but when a compressor craps out it somtimes puts metal throughout the system, and if you dont clean it out it might make the new compressor take a .

Hmmmm....did someone say expansion valve previously and it is the #1 point of failure that causes compressors to out?
