Getting on after all that? Man, hardcore. Anyone know how much different this Assen track is compared to the last year design?

The camera's are not in a good position to catch the crashes in that turn. There were quite a few crashes in all the classes, and I don't think I saw a good clean clip of any of them.

thats bullshit. only out of safety concerns? are you kidding me? im sorry but i dont buy that. rossi is good enough to learn a track quickly. you cant say that "its nicky and colins track" because what about the tracks that nicky has been on where he has gotten first and seconed? im sure he is not as familiar with those tracks as rossi or other gp riders are. thats a lame excuse to use for rossi not winning last year.

I agree. Rossi is not just going to hand over a race (even if he can afford to sacrifice points) or come in third because of safety corners. I was there and the shots on TV dont do their justice. Nicky was riding that track hard and hitting every line. Rossi did feel uncomfortable about the track though, especially the lack of run offs. Well see this year

I can't tell the difference, but as far as the changes go..

Edwards says: "It's !"
Stoner says: "It's disgusting, they destroyed it"
Rossi says : "For sure it's not the old Assen, but it's not so bad"
Nakano says: "it's fun. I ryke it."

well, I think it was funny in the first video that Arturo posted, the italian commentator said that the Thorax injury that Rossi sustained made "breathing and laughing difficult" lol

and about California....Nicky will be particular strong, as well as hopper and colin.......Melandri in the epodium?? not a freaking chance!! he absolutely hates that track, last year he was ' like a little girl that the track was too unsafe. Pedrosa?? I'm thinking he will be taking it REALLY easy.

I can see Casey Stoner attacking the track with reckles abandon, for his speed , anyway, he may end fifth, after nicky, colin, hopper, and rossi.

Not to mention that he crashed 3 times including a VERY nasty one in the corkscrew.

Man, if your last name contains the letters 'r-o-s-s-i', you are absolutely HATING life right now. Rossi went out twice during qualifying for a few laps each time and managed to qualify DEAD LAST! On the way out onto the track he would barely and coming off the track he would take his hand off the throttle. It's hurting him pretty bad. With 10 minutes to go, when everyone is frantic and throwing on the qualifying tires. Rossi just walked out of the back of the garage and to his trailer.

Capirossi looks like he is half-dead and having a trouble breathing. You can see him taking deep breaths from his onboard cam, and coming into the pits he could put his head down on the tank.. sorta like doubling over in pain if you were standing. :eh:

Very surpsied that Melandri is actually tearing it up out there and was 2nd fastest at one point.

then you explain to me why he did NOT win at Laguna last year. he was with Hayden all the way, he wasn't gonna push it too hard. he was worried about the SAFETY of the track and his position in the championship. Nicky and Colin rode the out of that track throughout their years in racing. so yes it is nicky and colins track.

GO JOHNNY HOP! First ever pole!

MotoGP Assen - SPOILERS!

HOFMANN has to be happy riding the full factory Ducati and qualifying about 10 spots higher than normal.
Sucks for CARDOSO who was almost out qualified by the noob SILVA who is the Spanish Superbike champion.

Yeah, I think Rossi is trouble tomorrow. Nicky has his best chance to extend his lead. Not the way you want to do it, but things happen in racing......

+1... Valentino is the the voice for the riders safety group. If he says safety improvements are needed, then they will happen. Why do you think Red Bull paid millions towards track improvements? They moved the walls in 2 (maybe 3) places at Laguna. If you'll remember, Edwards had like a 2.5 second gap over Rossi... in 3 laps Rossi closed that down to less than a second! He could have taken 2nd, have no doubt on that... I don't think he could have takens 1st though. Nicky was just too good.

im not sayin that its NOT hayden and edwards track, im just sayin......i think we can all agree that rossi is probably the best rider in GP, he has just had a bad season this year for whatever reason. but, i highly doubt that rossi wasnt able to adapt to the track through all the practice sessions and all. he way to good of a rider to not be able to adapt and know the track in lets say a weekend. thats all im sayin.

I'd say it's just about useless to him at the moment. It only happened yesterday, so I wouldn't expect any miracle healing before the race tomorrow. Actually the race starts in about 7 hours. I wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't try to race at all, and I wouldn't blame him one bit. Having recently broken a bone in my hand, fugg'dat! lol

I'm guessing he will at least start the race. He only has to pass 3 riders to get into a point paying spot, but if he can't even manage that, I would expect him to pit and start rehabbiing for next weekend.
