MotoGP Assen - SPOILERS!

Just saw replys from FP1, Tony Elias went down and came up holding his shoulder and is not riding in FP2, but the big shocker was ROSSI had a wicked looking high-side.. Looks like he is gonna try to ride, but he is limping pretty good.

Marco Melandri is riding though.

! that sucks bad. hope Elias can ride, i know he was really looking forward to the race. You know nothing is gonna keep Vale down unless it's something really extreme. That guy is in the zone again, and everyone should look out. Maybe we'll get to see Hayden and Pedrosa keep up with him this weekend. I can't wait till they get to Cali, I'm curious to see how Rossi is gonna attack this American track this year. I don't think he'll let Nicky have it this year.

Heck, I dunno.. the way Colin and KRJR are riding at the moment, we could have an All-American podium in California!

That would be great!!! Rossi didnt let Niki have the race last year. He won it outright.

that would be very nice, they just need a 4 postion podium for the Hopper.

But i don't see anyone winning other than Rossi, he knows he needs to pull something out, he needs what, 2 race wins to be in the lead? He'll get them too. He may not win at Laguna but he'll def. podium, I think he'll prolly be in the points lead by then though. I say it'll be Hayden, Rossi, and quite possible Melandri or Pedrosa on the podium at Laguna.

only out of safety concerns, I think Rossi was a little intimidated. Plus that is Nicky and Collins track.

Not necessarily. It depends on where Nicky finishes too. 1st place = 25 points. 2nd = 20. So if Rossi/Hayden fisnih 1-2, Rossi can only gain 5pts at a time.. but yeah, he can catch him at that rate too..

yeah, you're right about the points, i guess Rossi only has a chance if Nicky finishes lower than what 4th?

Valentino Rossi (12th - 1'39.458; 23 laps)
"I'm okay and I would like everyone to relax about it, even if it's been quite hard for me to ride! I have a little fracture on my left foot and also a small fracture on my right wrist, so when I give gas and brake it's really hard. I don't have much power or feeling. Plus I got a big bruise on my thorax and I couldn't breathe well for a long time. I had all the examinations necessary to check if everything was okay and with some painkillers I was able to ride this afternoon. The problem this morning was that we started with a tyre that was a bit too hard on the left. When it started to rain I stopped and when I started again I felt that I didn't have enough grip on the left side. I tried to do another lap to see if the grip would improve, but in a really fast point, with the bike leaned over on the left side, I took a flight through the air! It was a big high-side and the first time I hit the ground was very hard. It's a really unlucky thing for us because here I can feel that our bike is working really well, as Colin has shown. The track is not like the old Assen, but anyway it's not so bad. I need to see how it will be when I can ride at the maximum and hopefully I will feel in better shape tomorrow so I can do that."

Dunno.. the race is the day after tomorrow.. If he can regain some strength in his hand.. watchout! If not, then i'm guessing he'll cruise around in 6th or 7th. Just my 'guess'

He has hairline fractures in his right hand and left ankle. Usually injuries get more painful after the first day so we shall see. I am sure that his performance will be affected, how much though is the question.
