engine question

im an every once in a while dragracer. i recently spun a bearing in my 05 gsxr 1000. ive always ran stock motors and dont take it too seriously its just something i like to do. my bike is drag only. ive come across a motor built for ama bike. http://forums.13x.com/showthread.php?t=253745 would you trust that motor in a drag bike?

you can only beat on a motor for so long before it just gives out... drag racing cost money.. just like everything else in this sport, theirs no bullet proof setup

I didnt really read it, but I would expect it to be built for high rpm powa. I would equate that to meaning down low. I could be way off though.

I wouldnt suggest it, AMA motors are built to withstand high RPM's throuout the high gears, Not alot of punch off the get go from the launch.

They are basically blueprinted stock motors.Actually a very good deal for the money. If mine goes I will probably buy a super stock motor.

A quick one

i think the way they build these motors for ama now are pretty basic, and if you have been using stock motors til now, in my opinion it would probably work just fine. But like manson and bluewave said, you need some torque. Stroker motor baby!!!

I know there is only so much they can change. I think the can only alter/mod the top end of the motor.
