Lightbulb Every car should have this!

I was driving home from Galveston tonight and there is a stretch on 45 South that is really dark, so i decided to activate the night vision to see better and wow what a difference, i think every car should come with it as standard equipment in the future, its not only safer for the driver but it will make it safer for a lot of us that ride at night sometimes.

Pay close attention to the right side of the screen, you can see a tail light of a bike then after i activated the night vision you can completely see the rider and the whole bike, not just the tail light..... from the video you cannot really appreciate the details of the night vision but from the driver's seat you can even tell what model of the bike it is and the brand of jacket his wearing even when the bike was next to my car you could barely see him completely, and the busa had blue LEDs ON the whole time!

Watch it on HD!

I think I could pay more attention to the road just fine without a video cam in my hand staring at an LCD looking at an LCD.

very cool, and I've seen it on the beamers too, but its just one more thing/bell/whistle that is unessesary in a car that will detract from an already bad driver (I will say this esp. for bmw owners)

the LCD is designed so that you can actually drive watching it just as you would through your windshild, otherwise what is the point of having it if you cant look at it

did you miss the whole video cam part? Didn't doubt the effectiveness of it, but you are trying to concentrate one 3 things instead of one. HUD is awesome technology as corvettes have the same concept for engine monitoring. But I highly doubt trying to video tape it at the same time is more effective than actually watching the road.

FYI i drive a 4 door sedan.... meaning the girl seating behind me is the camera girl!

The point of this was to show that this little gadget can save lifes (including riders) and should be a standard equipment for future cars, just like when air bags first was only available to expensive cars..... it wasn't about assuming if i was driving with one hand or with my foot on the steering wheel!

That is so clearly a POV it's not even funny. If you even tried to argue the passenger was taking the vid, now the video camera is obstructing your view regardless of what seat she was in. I'm not trying to start a fight, just arguing the facts in the vid you posted.

Ya called eyes on the road. Not holding a video camera to show of the cool features of your high end MB. If you try to argue otherwise I would like a ride in your S class with said video cam riding shotgun to get such clear shots of gauges without the obnoxious side angles you get from passenger vids.

that would be really awesome i have really poor vision at night so gadgets like this really helps me a lot specially when driving across states where public lighting is next to none.

I'm not calling you a liar, it's just a little hard to believe. This would be the first video I've seen of a spot on gauge shot from a passenger. I mean even the subtle angle changes between HUD and road shot are so smooth. Did the vid record audio?

i have no need to lie and i am not known to be a lier either..... my point was just to show how a simple feature in a car can save lifes! Like i said, you are more than welcome to try it in my car, it is a roomy car in case you didnt know it, so it has a lot of room to maneuver the position of driver and passenger in the back to get that shot.

The video does record audio but 2 of the passengers were sleeping so i had the radio on mute so all you can hear is the sunroof being tilted open

I'm pretty sure that is an S55(or is it 550?), which is indeed a bombdigty car (ran valet for a few years) Just never saw a vid of that quality of "POV" from a passenger.

I never once doubted your claim just posted on facts I've been presented with. You've clearly argued enough characteristics to validate it. I guess all the other "passenger" vids have been . lol

That night vision is awesome, even if you can't chew bubble gum at the same time.
