Is this a scam?

I find two amazing bikes on sale in local classifieds only problem is when i get in contact with the sellers they say they have to ship me the bike. Using a middle man like www.fredologistics.justfree.com (PVT) LTD as a shipping. or about payment and shipping I will use only eBay vehicle protection program so we can both be protected.

We can use a shipping company to protect your money and my Bike, I will handle the shipping.

The bikes are amazingly cheap and have low miles and are in like new condition.

Has anyone ever bought a bike in this manner?

ask yourself... why would someone have a problem selling a bike at a such a great deal locally.

...and consider when you google that 'link' you posted..

I think Craigslist says it best with this line on top of all the vehicle classifieds.

If you get an uneasy feeling............. bail. Good deals will ALWAYS be around so nothing is worth rushing........... I dont know about you but im gonna take a guess and say that since you are so impatient about a good deal you cant afford to loose a lot of cash over a stupid mistake

You don't have to do that, just use your best judgement. 99% of the time you can spot a fake ad, here are a few things you can look for:

Sloppy English
Bad Grammar
No visible TX Tags, Or No Tags at all (moreso for cars)
ANY reason why they would have to ship it
Lack of a phone number(altho I never put mine)

If I see an ad I'm on the fence about i'll email the seller, tell them I am genuinely interested and ask them for a contact # that I can reach them at.

Whatever you do, NEVER give out your personal info, you're the buyer they don't need it. Also, if you can't drive over and put your own eyes on it, it probably isn't real.

Good luck in your search for a new bike, be sure to check out my "Buying or Selling a Bike" sticky in the Bikes For Sale section so you can avoid potential title issues!!

Yeah the Houston Metropolitan area has about 3,000,000 residents, if you can't find a good deal on a typical ordinary bike then you arent going to find one somewhere else either.
When you find one, in my opinion, you should insist on a clear title that is in the sellers name. If he has a title but never transferred it from the other seller to himself, again in my opinion, it's a deal breaker. Why should you have to hassle with his laziness?
The are plenty of bikes for sale in the area, just find the right deal and go on...
