2010 BMW S1000RR vs 08/09/10 CBR1000

So im still a couple of months away from getting a another bike. I have ridden the 08CBR1000RR and loved it.

I want a good track bike and Im seriously considering these two and maybe the newer zx10 when it comes out.

Im sure this has been threaded before but this one is for me.

The only negative I have heard about the newer CBR1000s is that the clutches don't hold up as good as others.

Only negative thing I have heard on the BMW S1000R is a slow breakn is a must and still no one can speak of there durability because hello... its to 2010 and they just came out.

Need some track rider/ and mechanical opinions on the subject. I love 600s but Im not willing to sacrifice top end and power. This bike will get used and abused so I need to make a good decision. Beclaws maintenence is a mother

IMHO the CBR1000 is a proven performer. The BMW looks promising, but the CBR will certainly get the job done.

The technology and traction control on the beamer will help you immenseley on the track. Of course look at the cost of each when you bin it as well.

in asking im assuming your actualy asking about the bikes them self and not factoring price. Just performance.....................

In that case I dont think anyone can say that the new BMW is a better bike all around.

Good question................ Cause lets face it if you stuck all the bells and whistles avail for the beemer on a cbr youd have a decent bike there. But then again the power plant in that bmw is un matched

Price is not the problem. I just plan to sleep, eat and shower on this bike. Im hoping it will speed up my divorce. Seeing that its all fast and stuff.
And maybe a little smart car with busa engine.
if I get a toy hauler and sell this house I could get 2 BMW S1000RR.

There's a rider in a group I roll with who comes on a S1000RR sometimes. He seems to love it.

Have you considered a Ducati? 1198S?

Not on the track:

Thunderhill Raceway

10 superbikes superpole

The CBR had the fastest lap times

The suspension is unmatched on the duke, But no one can refute the fact that they lack power.

This is BS. When you see a guy hauln az on a supercharged Seedoo does he have a frown on his face or a smile.

Happiness is a temporary event and only last as long as the corner your taking or as long as you can hold it over 188 mph.

I just got warned by motobot about staying on topic.

Happiness is not a part of this thread. Its all about getting the most performance and reliability out of a bike that im interested in.

They are all good. From a performance standpoint, each of the bikes you are considering will never be ridden to their potential.

The Ducati is not underpowered. It has as much area under the curve, it just does not have the high peaks of the other bikes.

Get the one that makes you open the garage door just to look at it one more time before the day is over.
