those of us in the State Guard don't have to pay tolls, just gotta go sign. I don't use the troll road often enough to make an EZ Tag worth my time, so I just whip out my ID and sign, drive for free

So sportbikers are pulling over for cops now?? Weird...

Screw the tollway. Those tolls were supposed to be removed after the road payed for itself.... That was more then a decade ago! Instead of removing them, their adding more! Boycott the beltway!!!

Just watch out riders they aren't playing games here. I know it will be said he does have ez tag just didn't have it on him at that time.

And this is why I don't take the tolls anymore

From what the chick at the EZ Tag place told me, as long as you have an account that they can deduct payment, you can call them ahead of time with the license plate of the vehicle your are driving. When you run the toll a picture is taken, and they would compare it to their data base. They find your plate on the call in list and deduct from your account. I'm sure there is a way for you guys with multiple bikes to switch the block over and get register more than one plate (not sure on the reg part though). Bottom line is they want to get paid so they have money to keep the other roads in Harris County rideable.

doubt that, 1 tag per veh. otherwise people would have 1 tag for both their cars.........what makes bikes so special?

again, they can charge by license plate IF THE CAMERA CAN SEE IT. tucking your plates makes that difficult which is why people tuck in the first place, i mean come on lets be honest about it.

If you run it without paying and they get your plate (they monitor every car) then you can call and pay it, or if you set up an EZ tag account they will waive the fine. I took my work eztag and used it in my wifes car for 1 day, and I got the ticket in the mail, they are monitoring it all very closely now. It was way cooler 10 years ago when you could just grab the brick and ride in your freinds car or on a diffent bike, but whatever you gotta pay to play.

Yeah, because the huge white stripe, lane dividers, and led signs just don't give it away...

Nope. Tried several times. They made me get 4 tags for 4 bikes. Stupidest thing I ever heard of. Even got bitched at one time because I had a different tag in my jacket (forgot to switch) than the bike I was on. Even though the bike I was on still had a tag registered for it.

I said screw it and leave the tags at home now. They can incur the added expense of running the plates, but none of my plates are tucked either.

Just FYI too, I got pulled over on the beltway, inspection sticker was out. He told me to get it done ASAP because he was supposed to impound the bike (but didn't).

nope your wrong. thats what taxes are for. the tolls are specifically for the tollway. if my memory serves me right it used to be .50 cents and now its 1.50. that is fuzzy math to me. it cost less to pay it off then it does to maintain it.

i dont see a problem in charging a bike but i do think it should be at a lower amount.

How else are they going to pay the toll collectors if they don't get tolls?

its only good on the vehicle your eztag is registered to, if you have ez tag on one vehicle and rack up tags on another vehicle thinking they will search your name, they wont. you will have fines racked up and when you become a high ranking violator they will track you until they catch you doin it, once your notified about the charges, you cant renew your registration until your debt are satisfied
