You don't have to. Just picked one up today for the new bike and I always kept and keep it in the trunk. Works just fine. Tested it when entering the Hardy at the 1960 on-ramp.

I brought up the idea to TXDot about a "personal" EZ Tag that you can carry from vehicle to vehicle...(being in the MC business, I change bikes I am riding weekly)
Until they have something like that , I have to ole' brick ez tag that I keep in my riding jacket....

Thumbs up

This is Happening more and more often for what I can see.

I have the same problem only have one tag and more than one bike, and allways question myself, I know this EZ Tag thing does not register some times and I am not sure how often do they check up the plates that go by and compare to the EZ tags to make sure you have one, and I am sure I used one by the time I went by the toll, but not sure if it will be assigned to that particular bike at the time they will check my plate.

So to be better safe than sorry, I will be going to the EZ Tag office tomorrow and will get one for each bike and the with it.

I just keep mine in the liner part of my jacket, I figure I always have my jacket when I ride, so it makes sense. Speaking of eztag, I still need to switch mine over to my new bike.

What is it about "TOLLway" that doesn't register?
They should rename it a "If you ride this road you MUST pay a toll or get a ticket, pay a fine or even get arrested for real-way"

OP, can you define what a tollway is?
Do you know what laws are and what the cops are supposed to be doing in regards to those laws? ?

well actually they should name it pirate "you already paid off the tollway years ago but we will keep raising the rates which makes you want to not pay while we make millions to line our pockets"way 8

Cops doing their jobs.... if you ride the "Toll" road pay the tolls like the rest of us... Give em a reason and they will use it........ I've been reading on here for a while now about stepped up Tollway enforcement....... if you actively try to avoid paying tolls I hope you get caught... If you screw up and forget your tag man up, your still responsible. Not paying tolls by mistake or on purpose is theft. People need to take responsibility for their actions and inactions.

with that said i'm also tired of being with by the cops on the toll road. i was pulled over for one reason... just to see if i had an eztag. i did nothing wrong. he said sorry blah blah but its getting old.
The rider that got the ticket today had her ez tag but it didn't register the cop said. Also her plate was tuck back like most of us have them. If there anything funny about this story was the same cop that pulled over my other buddy. What she said they are stopping all bikes that have the license plate tuck back. If you live on the West side watch out.

On another note that cop is looking for some bike that has run from him 3 times now. The officer said they live in Cinco Ranch.

I wonder if the cameras can pick up the tucked plates...... if they can't I can believe that they would pull everybody over that has a tucked plate..... If I tucked my plate I would make sure and be up to par on all other legal issues... insurance, reg. and have the dang ez tag...

If you have your plate tucked up under, be prepared to be hassled by the man... 'cause they don't like it. That's why mine are where they are supposed to be.

So far as the tolls, I have an EZ Tag on the bike but still ride the lines... and have yet to see a charge on my account.. funny how that works. Figure if and when I get pulled over I'll just say, sorry, there was debris in the lane and I was avoiding it.. and here is the Ez Tag right here sir!
