ROT RALLY

Anyone riding up to the ROT Rally in Austin in a few weeks ?
We drove up last year & it was pretty cool.
This year the wife & I are taking a day off from work & riding the bike up to Austin & staying over night until Saturday night.

We were planning on it but others have backed off.

I picked up a Saturday shift until 4 so if I go it wont be for very long. I dont prefer the crazy nightlife scene during the ROT rally.

YEAH, I like watching the bikes , people ,but don't like getting crazy among strangers.
I'm looking froward to the ride there more than anything.
We plan on going up on Friday, spending the night in my hometown & returning on satruday evening or early saturday night.

I'm sure my parents are going on their harleys, I may tag along myself. BTW, I'm from right down the road. La Grange.

Cool man, I grew up in Flatonia , we still have my mom's house there & we go down about once -twice a month.
We stay right off fm 609 across 1 block from the Dairy queen.
Have a buddy here at work that is from Ellinger.
Have a safe trip.

Last year we took the I 10 to hwy 71 route to Austin.
This year think we might take the 290 route in.
Is the 290 route better for riding up to Austin , as far as traffic is concerned ?

I taken it once to Kileen & you go through some small towns , meaning stop signs, red lights etc ....
I 10 to 71 to Austin is pretty much a strieght route , but maybe a bit more traffic.
