Houston's has the best hawian ribeye around. $28 buys you a plate of happiness. Only thing is the guys who used to make it real good doesnt work there anymore but the current chefs arent that bad. Just dont ask for medium-rare because they dont have a fkn clue. There is one on kirby and 59 and one on westhiemer and fountain view. If you don't like it PM me and Ill refund your tast buds. its that good.

There's a lot of good steak houses in Houston.
I prefer to cook my own though.
I hate paying big $$ for something and it comes out worse than what I could have done myself.

If you want a decent steak at a good price, Salt Grass has always been a safe bet.
I like to order the 12 oz. ribeye with Cognac peppercorn sauce.

I like to keep it simple. Rub the steaks with olive oil, add some sea salt, cracked peppercorn, and crushed garlic.

Have you ever tried rubbing/topping it with Montreal Steak Seasoning?

Yeah I have. I've experimented with a lot of different combinations of marinating and seasoning steaks, yet actually prefer the simple combo of oil, salt, pepper, and garlic. IMO a good cut of meat cooked properly doesn't need to be marinated or doused with a ton of different spices.

I have had Kobe beef in Japan. We once went to eat at a steak house in Osaka and it was about a grand for 2 of us. Tell you what, though, it was the best steak I have ever had.
