Do you have your M class?

Just a simple yes or no question. I was just thinking about how many people I know that don't have their M class license but still ride. One of my friends got a ticket for no license and was like, "I'll just go and take the test and get it dismissed." to which i replied, "Nope, MSF is required in order to get your M class license." The look on his face was priceless.

i rode for about 3 weeks and got mine, bought the bike before the class and practiced figure 8's and turns at my apt, ended up riding to the class. turned out fine but i wouldn't want to get busted without an MCL.

I had my bike for about a month before I took the MSF. The day I finished we got out early enough to run to DPS and take the test. My main reason for MSF was so that I didn't have to go through the hassle of the road test.

I would say that more people dont have it then do, the state does make it kind of a pain in the to get it, but its for a good reason. When I went to take my test on my TW200 I had a blinker bulb out, and because I did the hand signs backwards I had to go buy a bulb before they would let me take the driving test. It feels way better to know that you are legit when your ridiing though.

Good luck without one, now days they can and will impound your bike. Happened on the G-town ride a few months ago, and there is pics of it also. I have mine and got it before ever thinking about riding a bike. I bought my bike and had a friend ride it home, and then the next weekend took the MSF class.

i work with a guy who has been riding for say 20 yrs with no M.
he just bought a new harley and i told him that he needed to get the M
he said, nah man im good with out it.
i told him they would impound the bike, his eyes lit up. i dont work in that building ne more,,, i wonder if he ever got it

I knew I going to get a bike sooner or later.

I took the class for many reasons. This was before MSF was required

I didn't have a bike to take the test
I wanted to learn how to ride properly
I had an excuse to buy gear without owning a bike

I dont remember anything that they taught
I still wear the same gear
Exactly one year of the Certificate I got the M
6mths later..I became a proud owner

I've had mine since I was 19, I got it 3 days after I got my bike. The riding test was a joke. But I also took MSF about three weeks later. I just couldn't wait to ride.

MCL here. Rode 2 months before there was a open MSF class, then rode about 4 months before actually taking the written. When I got my M class, my license was 3 months away from expiring so I "assumed" they'd be smart enough to just do both since I was already there. Nope, when I got it, I didn't check it and next thing I know couldn't withdrawal money from the bank cause it was expired. Wtf? Had to go back and wait another 5 hours just to renew that.
DPS FAIL.
