Angry STUPID TRAFFIC OFFICER

Ok so on the way to take a friend home i get pulled over by KEMAH PD..
I got stopped by the exact same officer that i know has given 6 other sportbikes tickets in the past 2 weeks. BTW he followed me for 3 miles before pulling me over. I was according to him pulled over for obstructed license plate and having blue l.e.d. lights on my motorcycle. After a Conversation with other people who also have lights on their bike i looked up the traffic code and kept it on file.. BTW i was not cited thanks to this lil bit of info..

547.305. RESTRICTIONS ON USE OF LIGHTS.
(a) A motor vehicle lamp or illuminating device, other than a headlamp,
spotlamp, auxiliary lamp, turn signal lamp, or emergency vehicle or school bus warning lamp, that projects a beam with an intensity brighter than 300 candlepower shall be directed so that no part of the high-intensity portion of the beam strikes the roadway at a distance of more than 75 feet from the vehicle.
(b) Except as expressly authorized by law, a person may not operate or move equipment or a vehicle, other than a police vehicle,
with a lamp or device that displays a red light visible from directly in front of the center of the equipment or vehicle.
(c) A person may not operate a motor vehicle equipped with a red, white, or blue beacon, flashing, or alternating light unless
the equipment is:
(1) used as specifically authorized by this chapter;
or
(2) a running lamp, headlamp, tail lamp, backup lamp, or turn signal lamp that is used as authorized by law.
(d) A vehicle may be equipped with alternately flashing lighting equipment described by Section 547.701 or 547.702 only if
the vehicle is:
(1) a school bus;
(2) an authorized emergency vehicle;
(3) a church bus that has the words "church bus" printed on the front and rear of the bus so as to be clearly
discernable to other vehicle operators;
(4) a tow truck while under the direction of a law enforcement officer at the scene of an accident or while hooking up
to a disabled vehicle on a roadway; or
(5) a tow truck with a mounted light bar which has turn signals and stop lamps in addition to those required by Sections
547.322, 547.323, and 547.324, Transportation Code.
(e) A person may not operate highway maintenance or service equipment, including snow-removal equipment, that is not equipped with lamps or that does not display lighted lamps as required by the standards and specifications adopted by the Texas Department of Transportation.
(f) In this section "tow truck" means a motor vehicle or mechanical device that is adapted or used to tow, winch, or move a
disabled vehicle.

Acts 1995, 74th Leg., ch. 165, 1, eff. Sept. 1, 1995. Amended
by Acts 1999, 76th Leg., ch. 380, 1, eff. July 1, 1999.

the cop argued with me and threatend to put me in jail for saying he was wrong and or lieing about my lights being illeagal.. i turned them off finally and was let go with a warning. i will be at Kemah courthouse in the morning to file an official complaint.

For any leos on the board is profileing because someone rides/drives a certain vehicle illegal also??

of all the things i read this is the most important; he threatened to throw you in jail because you called him a liar. why would anyone do this? just dont argue cause a ticket doesn't care save it for court. call him sir or ma'am if its a lady. if you choose not to do that then at least be compliant and not call him a liar that just escalates the situation.

arguing with an officer is like arguing on the internet, even if you win, you're still retarded.

just be chill, play along, and win later if he writes you up for that bs.

Yeah curious if that is the same guy who actually took me to jail, my plate location and inspection were not placed correctly. It was my second week owning a motorcycle I had taken my msf. I just wanted to practice up and down my neighbor hood, stopping and etc. before I went big for the real streets lol. I even asked if I could push my bike three houses down to where I lived he said no they had to tow it. Worst thing I was on my lunch break from work.

Lessons learned.
1. Mount license plate and inspection directly underneath the tail light.
2. Do not illuminate the entire bike as it makes you stand out like a sore thumb.
3. If you break rules 1 and 2 you will be pulled over for no good reason.

neons are for show. Unfortunately everyone doesnt like the show. its like when HID's first came out. You got them and you got tickets for them being illegal. Until everyone started getting them. The pink ones still get ticketed.

the point is, if youre nice and he still writes you a bs ticket then hes gonna end up going to court, dropping it, and he was planning on filing a report anyway so its no big deal. a cop writing bogus tickets? thats a bad report on his .

doesn't matter. You can still get a ticket for "use of non approved DOT lighting." Got one myself. Most cops really don't care, but you run into a 100% "by the book" LEO every once in a while. Was pulled over twice for it, told the first LEO "I simply put them on to match the color of my bike making me more visible in the dark to other drivers." He liked that reason and let me go.
