Pay Ticket or Court?

I can go to court this Saturday and try to fight my "click it or ticket" deal (I didn't have my lap belt on),and in worst case, still have to pay 143 plus court fees, or just pay the 143 bucks and make it done. There is no points taken off the license. What you guys and gals think?

first, what's wrong with Kermit in your sig. That frog is 2 kinds of crazy.

second, pay the ticket. this click it or ticket thing is going on all over the place, not just here in Texas to try and make a point to drivers everywhere. I doubt you'd get out of it.

oh oh oh Im a PRO at this... keep calling and resetting the court date. then after resetting it about 3 times go in a pled not guilty... then reset the trial about 2 or 3 times. then when its time for the trial the cop NEVER shows. ITS GREAT WORKS FOR ME!!! it took about 2 yrs for me to actually go to court, when they reset the dates they will make it like 6mths later....

don't you still have to pay a court fine? either way, you pay it off in gas money and time spent lol

I used to have a car with the passive seat belt system but the should part didn't work. I got pulled over and showed him that I had the lap belt on. He let me go.

The opposite of your case, but still the same.

Mulatto's right though. The state (and insurance) companies are on a campaign to make people wear seatbelts.

I have a trial on July 12th. I tried to call and reset (like you did). The clerk told me that as of April 1st you have to appear before the judge to reset. They said that too many people were rescheduling. She told me to be prepared for the trial in case the judge says no. :eh:

Are you sure that your 'court date' is not the arraignment (where you plead 'guilty' or 'not guilty')? You can now do the arraignment by mail - you don't have to be there. Call 311 and make sure before you waste your time.
