There is just nothing good about that road - any part of it. It's ugly, busy, straight, busy, lots and lots of parking lot driveways, busy, people rushing and not looking, busy.... did I mention busy, and full of idiots?

I have ridden it a couple of times, and you really have to be on the defensive.

if the cop didn't issue her a citation your probably not going to win a civil case, if you do win a civil case you probably won't be able to get back a red cent, most civil cases again't individuals are unenforceable, due to the law being written to cover some things as personal property and things that are "making a living" items. bout the only thing that will happen is she'll loose her License and if she was un-insured a suspended or revolked license isn't gonna stop her

I drove on 1960 once from I-45 to 249 area at 7pm on a weekday to go eat at Outback with a road buddy I will NOT be doing that again lol. In a span of 10 miles?, I nearly got crushed and ran over several times from people pulling out of gas stations and other businesses. And I had a few ricers wanting to race me for some reason

yeah - that's the funniest - you're sitting within all that traffic, and some cager wants to show off for some reason.... what's up with that? even a hot car - 300 hp at 2500 lbs is 8.3 lbs per hp - vs. my 2.5 lbs per hp...

but seriously - I always take the middle lane - avoids people who think the turn lane is a suicide lane - rushing to get their left-turn done, and avoiding the right-handers coming out of parking lots. Also, if you stay with a pack of cars - protection in numbers helps! I try to stay on the front end of a 'batch' of cars - don't have to worry about being seen!

Some lady almost killed me on 1960 also pulling out of Target near willowbrook mall. Some time in October 09. I just started riding and I was going 45-50mph when the lady pulled out. The lady had the nerv to stop in the middle of the 3 lane road and scream shes sorry as I slam on my rear brakes and swerve sideways ( I only had 1 week riding experience) and I avoided hitting her by a frogs hair. I was super but I decided to just keep going instead of blocking traffic. It was a miracle I didn't drop the bike and avoided hitting her.

So why is YOUR insurance not going to help you out? She's the one at fault. Seems like I would be making a personal visit to that insurer and have a huge talk with them.
Fcking insurance........Don't miss a payment or they'll drop your . Have a wreck and it takes weeks to get anything out of them. Fcking scammers.

ozCBRgod - do you not have UIM insurance? That's just about a requirement in this state. And no coverage on your bike for wrecks, or any health insurance at all, even through work? man, that's rough!

I live on 1960 so have to ride it everyday. Have also lived on westheimer both are exactly the same as long as you stay in the center lane and don't stay in between 2 cars you should be ok.
