Exclamation ZX6R or ZZR, that is the question.

So I saw a bike exactly the same as mine but it has ZZR stickers on it. From what I can tell, although I didnt look too much because I had to go, it looked exactly like mine.

Can I check the vin and find my model? I just want to know if my bike is a legit zx6r or if someone just put that sticker on it.

When they changed to the Zx6r *636* they kept the old model zx6r and just renamed it zzr.

the longer you make something the more money you make off it.

besides that bike is awesome

I think it would actually be to your benefit if it was a ZZR seeing as they're newer bikes. It should have a production sticker somewhere on the frame, I believe when I had my ZZR it was a zx600j or something like that.

zx6e had a single seat

zk6r and zzr both have 2 sep. seats.

i think '02 was when the 636 was intro'd and the zx6r became the zzr

see how marketing works, the zx6r all of a sudden became kawi's sport-touring bike when the yr before it was their top 600SS bike.

i have a zzr. Just felt like throwing that out there. haha.

I like the individual seats. Personally, but the 636 seems like it has more acceleration than my zzr.

Not sure what the difference is but my '02 is a ZX6R, more specifically ZX600-J3. So if you look at your vin number you will see if you have a ZZR or a ZX6R, there isn't alot of difference beside the suspension components, braking, and minor engine components from what I understand i.e. compression amongst other things. Though I could be wrong since I haven't been in the market since '02.

Now that you mention it, the biggest difference in the past has been that the ZZR has the one piece 2 step seat. The ZX6R has the split seat. I would think that would be the same for current though I have not kept up with research on them.

From my memory the ZX6R is a 599cc engine and once the 636 came out it was called the zx6rr as the 636 was the new zx6r.
