Q' for those of you with the license plate mounted under the tail

Where are you mounting your inspection sticker?

How often do you get hassled for this set up?

I've only been stopped once, and all he said was to flip the inspection around so you could see it from behind.

My inspection is on my shock reservoir.

I've had a few "conversations" with state troopers on the side of my favorite backroads, and have never been harassed about it.

have mine way under the rear, my plate and insp sticker are in the same place, sticker is on a sticker plate mounted at the innermost part of my rear fender, still visible from 50 ft and a 30 degree angle to both sides of the bike. been stopped bout 3 or 4 times for it, no tickets at all. sons bike got one ticket, his is one of those side mounts, the plate mount is part of the chain guard and can't see the whole thing from behind

LOL Ormand, I have a very similar problem, my sticker is rubbed raw where the punch outs are from rubbing on the tire

Mine is just under the plate...buy that lil metal plate and put the sticker on there if you're worried about putting it on the swingarm....

HPD pulled up next to me at a red light and said "Boy, where is your plate?!"

I told him I had just done a track day, forgot to put it back on, and I would pull into the next parking lot so he could run my VIN.

He said, "Nah, just put it on when you get home"

The moral of the story: it doesn't really matter what you do, what matters is which copper you get.

My plate is currently in my trunk. =) its such a hassle to change it, because I have to rewire the nut-lights every time. I got a new plate since I let my SQODDY expire after my bike was wrecked. Haven't had a cop comment YET.

Had my plate tucked under my bike for 2 years. Was never pulled over for it at all. This year I got pulled over 3 times so far for it. Got 2 tickets. Tired of getting pulled over for it so I found a different bracket and now its not tucked up under it any longer.

IMO its not worth it any longer. They are cracking down on bikes with tucked plates. Not sure if its a Beltway 8 issue or they are doing it all over Houston. All 3 times I got pulled over I was on Beltway 8.

My license plate was right under the end of my tail piece with a 3 led light hooked up. My inspection was just stuck to the side of my swing arm. Never had problems.

The statement about which cop you get is probably the best one here.

My license plate is very easily visible, my inspection is not. I have my inspection sticker on the rear wheel cover. No possible way for a cop to see it without getting out of his car to check.

Only been pulled over once, and this was on 149 by a state trooper. He didn't say anything about the placement of my inspection sticker or the fact that my inspection was out.
