Q' for those of you with the license plate mounted under the tail

Where are you mounting your inspection sticker?

How often do you get hassled for this set up?

Hard to explain, but mine was above my license plate on the bottom side of my tail fairing. never got haggled. usually only tell you it's "illegal" when you get pulled over!

I keep mine in the trunk. I just pull it out if stopped. As long as it is current hasn't really been a problem.

*this doesn't make it legal*

Azylum made a bracket and it hags off the side of the plate mount.

They hyo's was tucked but I ended up getting a warning when we were breaking the law on a poker run at the astronomical speeds of 69 in a 60(farmers were trying to pass us on this straight road.)

So I put it back to close factory w the inspection plate sticking out like a prostitute on the corner in a red dress.

I have not verified this, but the police officers that harassed our group in Conroe (the bikes were parked on private-property at the time) stated that the inspection sticker could be housed inside your tail. According to them, the sticker only needed to be made available when asked. They did state that you might be pulled over more frequently, but it is legal to keep the sticker in the tail. Those same police officers harassed the guys that had the license-plates tucked. One of the guys had two holes cut into the license-plate so he could mount the plate, and the police officers said it was illegal to drill holes in the plates. You are supposed to utilize the holes the State drilled.

They also mentioned that the plate needs to be lighted. Even at noon!

A state trooper called tucked plates "pursuit tags" because when he tries to pull over riders that have them, they run

I have had mine tucked for about 5 years. I got stopped once but convinced the officer that I bought the bike that way and didn't know so he let me off w/o a ticket.
Inspection sticker is with the plate.

However, I think it gives the popo another reason to pull you over and could add to your ticket count if he wanted it to.

Be careful. Got pulled over on the Beltway this weekend and he told me they are suppose to impound bikes without them.

Most of mine are attached to a plate that has magnets on it and holds it behind the license plate. I just hadn't done the setup on this bike yet.

Oh, and I don't have my plate tucked. That's just a big red flag yelling "please ossifer, pull me over and harass my ".

Might be why I was let slide at 83/65.

my bosses have taken to patrolling the staff parking lot, looking for out of date stickers. i dont know if that is just them being as strict as they can get away with, or if the state is coming down on stickers.
i work law enforcement, but not really on the ticket writing end, so the announcement that they will be ticketing us for old stickers was a bit of a shock.

i agree with the above comment stating that a tucked tag will get you more attention by the po leece.
po leece generally do not like sport bikes, or at least they like to ticket them. maybe they hope for the adrenaline rush of pursuing a finely tuned sport bike in a heavy tank.

fyi, montgomery county sheriff's dept is not supposed to pursue bikes (not sure if there are any specifics to this policy) but they still do sometimes, so watch out.
