posing/stunting

just a random thought, curious as to what everyone else has to say. could stunting be labeled as posing?

discuss.

posing is the act of standing around next to bikes...
Stunting is the act of manipulating a bike to do astounding feats of balance and insults to the gravity / space, time continuem. (sp?)

I would say they are in no way related.

I'm not a stunter, but I would say no. Since it takes an inordinate amount of skill to stunt, whereas it takes zero skill to pose.

If the 'stunting' is as good as your 'racing' then YES... It would be posing!

when i used to go to asi... i would do my one epic stunt...

i would turn my bike around on it's kick stand...

hahahahaha. I'm laughing because I was leaving rookies for cali's birthday and saw jerzey trying to do it. Then Fredman89 got in there and tried to help him. Two semi-drunk guys working against each other to turn a bike 180 degrees.

I usually pull off my best posing feat showing others how I railed that corner while drinking coffee.

stunting kinda seems like 'hey look at me and what i can do!'. and isn't posing kinda the same way, as in 'look at me and my bike' ?

This is probably not the thread for you to voice your concerns with stunters

I'd say no. There are posers in all aspects of the sport in my opinion. You always have the people who just buy a bike and pose. Just becuase you have a stuntbike or have a bike with a 12 bar or a cage doesn't make you a stunter either.

People race becuase (IMO) they have a love to go faster and faster and be competitive at it and strive to get better. True stunters are the same way. They do what they love and strive to get better.

Now, people that love to pose and strive to be the best at posing.. Don't know what to say bout that haha.
