Good to be here!

Hey everyone! I found this site by accident but glad I did! Looks great!

I've been riding on and off for a while. When I was about 10 years old my dad bought me a little 80cc bike and we used to ride it around the neighborhood. When I was stationed at Ft. Bragg ('84-'87) I bought a Ninja 600 and used to take it down to Myrtle Beach. Good times and good memories there.

I'm an adult (that's somewhat debatable) and divorced now and ... well let's just say I don't have to ask "permission" to buy a bike now! LOL! I got to ride my buddy's m109r around the block last summer and that kinda put a bug in me.. I know I'm preaching to the choir here.

I look forward to hanging around here and (eventually) getting a bike. Which brings me to 2 questions: does a 43 year-old on a sport bike look "wrong?" I'm 6' and about 210 lbs so I'm not going to get a 600 and end up looking like I'm in a circus as a clown riding the mini bike! LOL!

So my next question... I'm 6' tall, about 207 lbs. I'm kinda looking for a sport bike but I know a 500 will look too small for me. Maybe a 750 on up???

It all depends on what you're looking for. If you've been riding for a while, you should be good on any 600cc and up Supersport bike!

Go to Wild West Honda on I-10 and 99, and they let you take em out for a spin... I am not sure of what other dealers would let you do that.

Try R6, CBR600RR, GSXR 600, and ZX6R. If none of those satisfy you, then go for a bigger one... *that's what she said!* lol

Go for a 'busa then! lol, and you would be needing a back seat on your way BACK from there! ;-)

But yeah, 929s are good too. Go ride em all, and see what you feel comfortable with.

Thanks for the heads up on Wild West Honda! I don't have much $$$ so I'm gonna keep watching the classifieds section.

Oh, like the GSX-R too

Myd as well get a 1000 cause if you get a 750 its basically the same exact size as a 600 (riding wise, not power) and it wouldnt take much mods to get to a 750 with a 600. But its all in what you want. Im 6'3 and thats my 2006 600 (fist bike) and I thought it was a lil small but I just rode my buddy's 2009 1000 and my knees and poster still feels the same as my 600... But Im deff ready for a new GSXR-1000 no doubt! And the with your age dont let that stop you from having fun, the first day I got my bike my dad(50) jumped on and haulled A$$ for about 20min, came back with a smile from ear to ear...
