Back to what I said on the other thread, officer is going to universally say... I was in fear for my life, I thought he had a weapon and he made a sudden movement.

He rewound the video to see if what had happened had really happened? LOL.... looking for the delete button eh? Funny how he just HAD to bring up the knife even though it played NO role in the entire scenario.

pester,

YOU dont have to do that.. but I DO After my huge fack-up, I dont want an officer to think I am going for a weapon ever, ever again. It was my fault, and I had nothing on me, but by my actions, I made something very simple/innocent enough, come out in a bad BAD way.

Just watched White's testimony and also another vid showing the jury found him guilty. I still say it was an accidental shooting.

wouldn't have been an accidental shooting if he kept his gun holstered. only reason you draw the gun is if you think you are going to use it = premeditated am i right?
An Officer can always draw his/her weapon but, the correct way would have been to "index" the trigger after drawing the weapon. But, I wouldn't say White was premeditated and planned to kill or shoot anyone that night. He just plain F'd up.

Well, that kinda f'up gets you jail time, as well it should. Under the circumstances it was an assault rather than just an accidental shooting.

Wow. Excellent on the guilty verdict. Now let's see what kind of sentence is doled out.

Guilty is good here - if you're going to carry death in your holster, your prime objective should be to be able to be sure to control it. Controlling fear is a key element of protect and serve. Now, at least the message is clear.
