Not buying it..

Yeah, that's really crazy as far as the cop using super excessive force. If you watch the raw video of it. The cop was following them for a good few min. before they decided to run from that stop sign, inwhich the second rider couldn't make the curve and flew over the curb. At that point it seemed that the rider in question of reaching for an object was in shock where he saw the other cop who blocked them off and was debating to continue or surrender. He looked back twice, with his hands in the same position. But everyone cleary sees that there was no threat. At least not to be shot. He had his back to the officer, and on a motorcycle. Nowhere near being able to pull a firearm and shooting in time for an officer to react who already has a weapon drawn. Us bikers must stick together. So, Officer wrong, biker wrong. but not to what the case is stating. Excessive Force. Judgement for the Plaintiff, ruling against officer's use of excessive force. I sentence him to 11yrs. and $15,000 dollars in fines. (Gavil knocking sound) Thank you...

X is like MH's herpes wart. Its annoying, you can't ignore it, it spews nasty pus and it will NEVER go away.

Eh... he's an overly pompous, critically harsh, very opinionated individual, but some of the members on here hang on his every word like he's writing national laws into effect.

Relax.......... it's the internet guys.

this should be an open and shut case... only a idiot would think the cop was justified in anyway to fire his weapon.

Allright looking at time stamps. Retards on harleys take off in front of cop at 2:16:33ish lights come on soon after;
at 2:16:50 guy who DIDNT fly over the curb is stopped... 0mph...

SEVENTEEN SECONDS

they were NOT running...

I could see if they were going for a few minutes before they stopped but SEVENTEEN SECONDS between when they take off and are stopped completely... I've been pulled over and more time had elapsed between the time the lights came on and I was at a complete stop.

Also it seems as if the siren was left on during the stop; if the officer was out of his car yelling at the top of his lungs there is NO WAY the guy on the bike right in front of him 5' from the siren heard him. I have a code 3 100w police siren/air horn and at that close of range (especially with a horn mounted on the push bar) all that guy on the bike heard was a horribly distorted/clipped siren sound and then felt extreme pain

cop was waaaaaaaaay out of line here..... Nothing on that video that the biker was doing seemed in any way threatening, cop couldn't see his hands but thats not justification for deadly force.

unless the video is edited and the time stamps are wrong I dont see how this is even up for debate.

Situation was
-2 dudes on cruisers take off being cool dont realize a cop is behind them
-emergency lights come on
-guy A may or may not be running but it doesnt' matter cus he crashes, if he was a new rider racing guy B his focus was on the bike and the impending doom not the cop in the background
-guy b stops freaked out by it all can't hear for sirens
-cop shoots guy B for no legitimate reason

I was in a similar situation way back in the day when i was in HS. I was in my 300zx and raced a camaro from a light; i was so focused on that i didnt see a light bar 1 car behind me and didnt notice they were trying to catch me until i was nearly stopped at the next light... luckily I didnt get shot :O A lot was going on in that video but still nothing to justify the cop's actions

all i have to say is not all cops are idiots, but that one cop there, yeah... he's a dumbass. i dont give pity to cops, i was a marine did two tours in iraq, grunt style. so what they think they know, cause they are like you and me with a badge... straight up though, anybody can see that the biker wasnt a threat.. so one more dumbass making all the other cops look bad..

Apparently the cops didnt even lift the bike off him and he ended up with 3rd degree burns all over his legs, I will see if I can link the thread, that cop had no justification for shooting him and that video is really sad.

I personally think the LEO was out of line for being jumpy, but on the other hand, if the M.O. didnt do much (actually nothing) to help with the situation

I have posted about this thing before. I have a routine I follow.

right hand up
pull keys out with left hand,
extend out to the left
slowly place keys on ground
tilt head way WAY back
slowly bring in both arms high to remove helmet
place helmet on the ground. while keeping right hand on handle bar
then place left hand on the handlebars

after that I sit there, I do not look back. I wait, until I am approached, OR I am given instructions on what to do next.

it may not be your fault, that an officer puts lead into you spine, but you dont help yourself if you dont act in a very clear manner, showing that your going to be a cool customer..

do you really want to take the risk of the guy approaching that has a weapon, that your not doing you best to ensure, that you arent a threat?
and why the you have to put everything on the ground?

ill never do that is my property

This appears to be an accidental shooting. Tragic as it is. Based on the video and the witness Officer's testimony; this was an accidental shooting. Just my two pennies.

wouldn't have been an accidental shooting if he kept his gun holstered. only reason you draw the gun is if you think you are going to use it = premeditated am i right?
