Tail of the Dragon

Anyone been to the Tail of the Dragon in NC? My dad just got back from his trip on his Goldwing. I am hoping to go with him next time he heads there. Think its like 311 turns in 11 miles. He did a total of 4800 miles in 2 weeks. Went to VA and back. now lets see if I can get these photos to work....

I am hoping it will be next summer I can go. He wants to trailer the bikes there. Have any of you gone on any long trips? Trailer? please share.

There are a few from this board that have done it. Sounds like a fun time for your dad.

eventually, after I get a few more gray hairs( hehe) I want to do a few trekks up the pacific northwest coast line. and Sturgis. I dont know, call me old fashioned. Checkout Train460's thread about a good read..That would be where I want to go. Tail of the dragon and deals gap are also awesome roads.

Been there and done that...the Skyway and the Blue Ridge parkway are a bit more fun to do. They have a lot less traffic for the area and they have some awesome curves that you can drag knee in forever.

Anyways, i kept getting left behind cuz i wasn't comfortable yet haha. I was a puny dude on a 250 putting through the curves hehe. Iono, maybe i can go back there some day...

+1 for Blue Ridge Parkway.
I've driven it in a car before (never on a bike). WOW was that a blast....and really nice scenery to go along with it.
