I honestly don't think the BT016s were ever intended to be run at the track. The BT003s are more suitable for trackdays! The Corsa 3s are excellent tires and they warm up fast, the BT016s are just as good but it takes longer to warm up. I have always been on pirellis, from supercorsa pros to corsa 3s, they are excellent tires but they wear out way too soon for my bike so i made a switch to the BT016s now hoping they last a bit longer under street riding conditions, i don't do a lot of commuting on my bike so most of the riding i do is on back road twisties, still the corsa 3s only last me aprox 2k miles only. I have put about 120 miles on the BT016s now and i am very happy with the performance and feel of these new tires (coming from a pirelli fanatic).

If in your mind you have doubts, then do not run these tires.

I ran 016s in August of last year and they got too hot and too greasy. The performance suffered a little, but I still got around, with smoking them up on acceleration and sliding around. Would I run them again? Yes - on the street, no - on the track. Why? See my point earlier. It's all mental. I just do not feel comfortable with them on the track, and that is it. I ended up getting some 003s instead, and I am fine with those. They do not slide as much and they seem to stand up better to temperature. I also trust them better.

Great tires. depends on what kind of pace you are running though? A friend over rode his set at TWS (Texas World Speedway) this weekend and lowsided in turn 2

great tires, i ran the stock 16s on my bike until i killed them. Very predictable and great tire for the money.

+12234 to know why the bt-016 were the cause of the accident.

I'm a level 1 noob and just did my 3rd & 4th ever TDs at TWS (Texas World Speedway) on Pirelli Diablo Rosso Corsas. They are AWESOME! Sticky and gave me a lot of confidence out there. One less thing to worry about. The bike and tires can do a lot more than I can so its on me now. I can't wait to go back to Eagles Canyon on 6.13 and do that track with these tires. Check with John (South Central Race Center) and Patrick at Motorcycles Unlimited about them.

I rode with 16s at MSRH, being a noob for the track and gradually picking up the pace I felt very comfortable with the way they performed.

I have 6K on my 016s and still have a good amount of tread in the center(less than half but still)......Never really pushed the limits on the sides but for the times ive been leaned over they felt great..... The centers defininatly last thats for sure.....

Now, I have ridden on a number of bikes with 016s on, and can't say I felt 100% confident on them. On top of that, Pyrobug just went down due to his set of 016s last Saturday at TWS (Texas World Speedway). Something to think about, but I'd stick to the Pirellis!!
Yeah I went down on the 16s I had to buy another set just to feel confident ....I wish I would have bought the Pirelli or the 003s before that track day....Your gonna need that grip someday just hope you dont go down like I did

Yeah, that's my thinking...I guess I'm going to hold off on this TD and wait until I can get some different tires. I'm not saying the 016's aren't good enough, I would just rather be safe than sorry and have the confidence in my tires.

Thanks,
Kane S.

I like the 016,s and I would do the trackday personally and just maybe back off a notch or two, its not a race and U will have a blast, I,ve done trackdays on my K71000 and they were not bad at all, but I,m not a racer either

I did a session at GSS with a 015 front and 016 rear on my 1000RR ABS model. They worked fine for me

no way I'd do track days on a bt016 unless I was on a ninja 250.
