BT-016's and trackdays?

I'm debating doing the TD at Cresson on the 17th but am a little leary to do it on the BT-016's. I've done 4 TDs, each one was on Pirelli DCIII's and they haven't let me down yet. This time I thought I'd try the Bridgestones and so far I haven't been all that impressed with them on the street. What do you people that have run them think? I'm by no means a racer, my last TD I ran toward the middle of the pack in B group so what do y'all think?

Thanks,
Kane S.

I like the 016's a lot. Had no issues with them at all.

And switching from Pirelli's you may need your suspension tweaked, assuming you have had it setup already. Just a thought.

I liked them on the Speed Triple. Two track days, zero complaints. I am a big fan of the BT016's for street/track day usage. Let them warm up, and no issues, push when they are cold and they will slide (like most tires).

I figured you would like them. They work VERY well for their intended purpose.

To the OP. . . . they're fine for your speed as long as you remember you're not on all out race tires. As long as you're fairly smooth they'll work just fine. I had NO complaints with mine at TWS (Texas World Speedway). Compared to my GP-A's they obviously weren't as grippy, but for spirited road riding and the occasional TD in B or C groups they work well.

Thanks, that's what I was looking for. Also thanks to everyone else for your input. I have about 300-400 miles on them, maybe more, but haven't been all that impressed with them in the twisties, but then again I don't really push it on the street.

I've only ridden with him once(street) but we weren't exactly riding the way suggested on this forum. . . . at all. I'll probably get that out of the rear. The front will probably last 9-10. I am on a 636 though, so his tire wear will be a bit more than mine.

He went down because of his BT-016's? I've ridden with him at the track, and he's a very competent and safe rider who knows his limits, but I had no problem going around the outside of him at my last TWS (Texas World Speedway) TD.

What exactly happened to blame the tires?
