yeah, took 2 road trips to Dallas past 2 weekends. Sucks. Mostly straight and not real scenic.

Hmmm, I figure once I get to Madisonville it would be pretty quick. How long did it take you all?

Quick. But still boring. Long, straight highways with moderate to heavy traffic. Boo. Fly instead.

Thought about it....even thought about driving the slab. But, if the weather is nice I would like to put the bike out there. Geared up of course.

But why? Who would we make fun of if not YOU?

I would take the bike anyway- I like it better than my car or truck. Who cares about the boring ride? It's a more boring drive.

what everyone is saying is spot on. seems like a good idea, until you realize you havnt turned in two and a half hours. at that point, your just dealing with being on the bike...endurance wise...you may be reminded how compact your machine is when places of your body start getting hot. legs near the exhaust, undertail exhaust cooking your , knees getting irritated by engine heat etc... and you want to go with all gear? no A/c, no cupholder. cant really stretch much unless you want to stop.

if your ok with riding with mp3 player, you will definatly want it. i dont think a camelbak is needed. your going to have to stop often enough for gas anyways, might as well get a drink then, rather than having excess pounds of liquid on you that just wears you down faster.

also keep in mind that while you can probably make the trip there and even enjoy it, the trip home you might not be looking forward too as much.

also. look forward to having squared off tires when you get home.

I can vouch for that. There is a speed trap right when the city of Wilmer starts, and there's always a cop over there waiting for you. The speed drops from 70-60.

i got pulled over in ennis for doing 70. A black buddy of mine had a gun pointed at him while all of us were able to walk and wonder around the car. lol I kinda find it funny. Five minutes later, another cop pulled us over again just to check our paperwork.... put us in hand cuff to search the car. WTH. Everything checked us out, so we went along with no ticket lol.
