Finally got a new toy! Now I dont have to ride my cruiser all the time.. I have the carbs off right now giving them a good cleaning but after that if anybody wants to ride I am in the Clear Lake area.

I think i saw this on craigslist. Hey if you dont mind a set of eyes watching I would love to watch you clean the carbs. Might learn somethings. I have the later model of this bike.

Thanks guys, I already cleaned my carbs but I didnt get the pilots clean enough so I will be pulling them apart soon. I will try to shoot you guys a PM and you can watch if you really want to..

FWIW, if the pilots are munged up, don't even try to "clean" them. You can buy them in packs of 4 for less then $30. It's cheap and easyer then wondering if you got the orfice completely clean.

Don't for get to synch them when you are done.

"boiling" is a caustic bath that machine shops used to use. I don't think any do anymore. It was VERY effective at cleaning blocks/heads to bear metal.

He is talking about chem dipping the carbs.

Ultrasonic bath FTW but finding someone with one big enough is hard...
