Best RWD Import Sportscar...

Hey guys, I've been out of the import scene for a while now... I've had a truck for a few years now and want to get back into it. My last car was a 1994 Sentrs SE-R that I did alot of racing with up in NY. I got the truck because I thought everyone in TX was supposed to own a truck. :laughing6

Well, for the past few months the import urge has been really getting to me and after talking it over with the wife I think I'm gonna get back into it...

I really want RWD, not front this time around. I'm thinking that really only leaves me with the S2000, 350Z and the RX8... if I buy used, it will have to have less than 20k on the odometer.

Obviuosly I want a manual... even my truck is a manual, I hate autos. We bought my wife a Mazda 6 about 3 years ago and it's real nice so I'm thinking the RX8 would be the way to go (plus I get them below dealer cost through work). But I've heard that they were misrepresenting the horsepower pretty drastically... also I don't know anyone who has one.

My dads best friend owns a Nissan dealership in NY and he said he's keep an eye out for a choice used one... but that would be a pain having to fly up there for it.All my vehicles have been Nissans and they've been great.

Now for the S2000... I love the looks, but I'm not a big fan of convertibles. Plus I'm 6'4 and heard they don't have enough room for tall guys like me.

Any ideas/thoughts would be much appreciated... if I'm missing out on any cars, please let me know. I don't want to go any older than an 05.

They don't make the Supra anymore do they? I want a newer model... for reliability reasons.

well, since you put a price limit on it, and only an '05 or newer....i've heard the 350z's are pretty good for a baseline. i just don't care much for their styling. if you aren't set on an import car, then you can get an 02-03 corvette coupe for around that price.

I still hate their styling though, at least when they're stock. They are overbuilt though. Even a 98 will put the car at 8 years old.
I think the only way to find out is go sit in and test drive both the 350Z and the S2K.

So why not AWD?

if i were you i would go find a 96 300z TT in good condition for 10k or under. Fix it up and your good, plus you would have way more extra money to really spice that bi*ch up.

or

Get a 2002-2004 infiniti G35. Great platform and hella fun to drive.
If you were gonna choose out of the l3 cars u listed above though, i would get the s2000, just because it has more potential then the rx-8 and can be just as much fun as the 350z.

If u want a mazda then get a 1988 rx-7 infiniti or 1989 savanah model
or
1994-1998 rx-7. U can definately have alot of fun with those when you fix up the car. oh well just my 2 cents.

Oh yeah if you want the power of a twin turbo supra bro. Then go buy a 1990-1992 240sx for about 2k and you can drop a the twin turbo engine bay or a skyline of any kind into it no problem for 3-4k no problem.
