Just picked up an 08 cbr1000rr

Just picked up an 08 cbr1000rr yesterday. Took it for a spin last night and all I have to say is...HOLY ! That thing is so light compared to my last Aprilia it feels like a mountain bike. Gonna have to get used to those clipons though, my wrists and shoulder were hurting after like 20 minutes. I would like to thank Pre-K for hooking it up on a fantastic machine.

I heard about that and called about 8 bike mechanics that work on them including some dealerships and they say they haven't seen any of them do it. I think it was a very limited problem. I think it's a situation where the unsatisfied customers make more noise than the satisfied ones.

Keep your back flat and use your core muscles and legs to keep your weight off your arms Is Pre-K gonna make you hang out at Stubb now?

Some say the same about the 09s. Mine has over 4,700 and has not burned a drop

Mine goes through about 1 to 1.2 quarts every 1500 miles. I'm not a dissatisfied customer at all though, you made a great choice.

I miss the 600. I can't say the 1K is a better bike but I love riding it

I'm at 5500 miles or so and so far the bike has been flawless except that the oil level gets low around that 1500 mile mark. No weird sounds, or chattering, just low oil.

Oh, and to OP, you should look up the exhaust flapper mod on the 1000rr forums. It's really easy and takes like 5 minutes to do.

It has a Yoshi on it so wouldn't it already be disconnected? I'm still doing my research on this thing.
