Im pretty sure the "ss2" with the bigger tires is not limited. just the SS1 with tires is limited.

At least I remember hearing something to that effect.

even mopar's cheap added Z rated tires to the SRTs. they were horrible traction goodyears but they were Z rated which allowed a factory limiter of 172.
Because that is the bottom of the list for selling points.

my 06 350z would hit the limiter in 5th lol 155...

but it didnt have the to beat a 600 from a roll. or a dig lol but it was great in the handling department

i dont think there is any 400+ plus hp car out there from the factory heavier than the mopar LX line(charger 300, magnum) SRT trim. so i doubt weight is a factor

i had goodyear eagle RSA for factory tires(could that get traction to save my life) and my factory speed limiter was set at 172.

on my old magnum 340hp crank, i had H rated tires and it seized at 135 so i'm going to assume your cobra had maybe V rated tires.

like the other guy said, the camaro SS2 probably has thehigher rated tires and higher rated speed limit.

At 65 MPH, you (referring to OP) should be going for 2nd on a 600, 1st on a liter bike. put you up over 8k for real acceleration.

if anything that sounds backwards… if your on a 600 i would think try to get as high as you can in first … id try to be in first on either bike unless it made some ridiculous power… i don't own a 600 so im not sure where 65 in first gear would put me as far as rpm but i know those rev to 16.5

Most 600s will run out of gear in the 70-75 range. A liter bike will pull to 90-100 before hitting the limiter. You would actually lose time making a VERY quick shift on the 600, where the liter bike still has some legs to run with in 1st.

To the OP....was this race down on the south side of town? The reason I ask is there is a YELLOW 2010 Camaro SS running around here with a pretty decent sized turbo on it, maybe like a T76 or something, front mount intercooler etc....it's probably making around 600rwhp easy.....he would definetly spank a 600... a 750 also.....

There is another YELLOW Camaro down here that has a Magnacharger on it....I am sure that one makes close to 500rwhp....he would prolly spank a 600 also...

Gotta becareful with the cars these days.....some fast fast FK'Ride Smart out there...
