A 9-minute ride on the tew fiddy

I pulled this off of my DSM board but this is actually my post and it's my 250. I just thought I'd share with the moto community. Nothing fancy, especially since we're talking about a Ninja 250 here, but I've always liked videos from a bike's POV.

9-Minute ride on the tew fiddy

So I was bored on Friday and had a great idea. I've always loved the views from bike-attached video cameras so I decided to rig up my own and go for a ride. The following video is a 9-minute ride through my neighborhood, on the WPT feeder, 1464, and back home. I had 3 WOT runs but the only clean one was the first on on the WPT feeder.

No the bike is not fast so don't expect anything crazy but it does hold it's own and the engine sounds nice. This would of course be much cooler on a bigger bike but the tew fiddy will suffice.

You will probably hear a couple mis-shifts. The bike sometimes won't go into gear cleanly and I don't know why.

Also watch in the video for a gold Camry that I'm riding behind. When he was pulling out onto the WPT feeder there were 2 f-bodies racing and were probably doing somewhere in the neighborhood of 110mph+. You can see them flyby 1 second after the Camry pulls onto the road and they barely miss the car.

Here are pictures of the rig. Every good DSMer needs a shitload of zip ties. And yes it was extremely secure, hence the number of zip ties. The next time I do this I plan on using a neutral density filter or a polarized filter which will reduce the ammount of light on sunny days and increase detail. It will also protect the lens and only costs $5.49.

*edit* - the pictures were originally attachments but they cannot be seen here as attachments so please click the links

Okay enjoy. Comments are very welcome but the two fiddy jokes are kinda played out so I don't really feel like hearing them *unless you have a genuine response attached*. Jokes about my ghetto rig are allowed though.

Cool vid.. I like onboard vids too, especially ones without music. Moto-engines are music enough!

Looks like you got a bit hyper a few times.. lol

How about a lame ride along on the 50?

http://gratch.no-ip.org/vids/nsr_onboard_1.avi

Stupid batteries died after about 1.5 minutes, and it was dark. Actually, don't click it.. It's not worth it. Nobody is THAT bored.

I wasn't the same lenght behind the Camry. He started out about 1/8th mile ahead of me. Oh and it's a 250 (not a 50) and surprisingly as slow as it is it's still faster than my Tibby.
