How much do you weigh? I am 195lbs suited. How much gear is in it? I don't think the 01-02 1000s like a LOT of gear...I would stay -1+2....you gear it lower then that and I think it may hurt the mph. The old ones peaked at around 11000 rpms if I remember right....if you are
trapping close to the limiter in 6th maybe it's hurting it.....throw a
750 intake cam on the exhaust side/map it. That will boost the top end hp to match the gearing....

I weigh about 175 suited, im -3/+1 (yeah i know, too much gearing) going to try -2/+1(i have a ton of countershaft sprockets) but the crazy thing is that even when i was -1/stock it still wouldnt pull 140, it had the same problem but i thought i didnt have enough gear in it, i never made a serious pass with the stock clutch setup(i never was good at riding swb), yeah the power peaks at about 11k rpm and i have tried the autoshift at 11,200, 11,400 12,000(blows through the clutch bigtime). Yes i am in sixth through the traps. Im going to check out the clutch and if i find nothing wrong with it(i doubt it, everything signals a clutch problem) im going to juggle gearing some more.

Love to do the cam swap but i have no clue how to degree cams

way to much gearing. never go down more than 1 in the front, then start going up in the rear. will cause bindage in the front due to to small of a turning radius. You shouldnt need more than -1 +2. I run that on my 66" bike and I weigh 175. You need to set it up to run through the traps in top of 5. Shift at 12000 or 11800. Intake cam on exhaust side, no air filter, take any unnecessary weight off (these things are heavy), Good map and go as short as possible without having wheelie problems. Takes many days at the track trying new things i.e riding style, suspension, clutch, shift points, and practice, practice, practice, launching. These guys that add nitrous to their bikes are just making up for lack of practice/tuning

Dont just judge your clutches condition by the looks of it. Stack height is more important than the looks of it.

Yeojblblbbles clutch in his 1000 is funky also.....his bike likes to wheely WAY too much...
What is the fix for my clutch? Is it something I just need to get used to or should it be fixed? I know I suck and all but the clutch isn't helping me get better...

Burke Alan says there is a point in it where it will slip. Guess you have to learn to use it at that point. Im sure mine is the same. I just cant seem to find it.

Honestly...if it had an air shifter so I could leave with both feet down and the bike completely straight on the line I probably could have figured the clutch issue out....I just had no confidence leaving the line all crooked from having a foot on the peg......we need to try different stuff before we throw parts at it. Remember it took me 35 passes before I ran a 9 on my own 1000......lots of practice and experimentation is needed.....just like tag'n hoes...

You could just make changes every time and never get the runs to really figure out one set up. Or you could not do it like me.
