I'm thinking the brakes would have been a better option than the horn or lights. The guy may have been totally in the wrong but self-preservation should trump right or wrong.

this was when I called you, I was trying to find someone to ride the bike somewhere for me so I wouldn't have to deal with towing and storage fees and all that

what kind of moron do you think I am that I would not use the brakes when a crash is imminent. C'mon now. Just because I flashed my lights and laid on the horn, doesn't mean I wasn't braking like my life depended on it...

Exactly, on my bike I operate the horn and high beam with my left hand. My brake is on the right

It's just that your narrative was pretty complete except that it did not mention braking at all so it led some of us to wonder if any braking was done. Not an omission in your actions just an omission in the write up.

I came over the curve, started to brake, flashed my lights, then laid on the horn and began to aim for the lane to his left. When I hit him I still had my finger on the horn, and I was still braking. After I hopped the curb and stopped, I waved him down, when he didn't stop I got his plates... now stop being a douche bag.

Racer X has 10yrs riding experience and 1 collision so he is our local Street riding Valentino Rossi. yet he could not figure out you could brake and use your horn or lights.

when he rides, there's never any car on the road either. he is that good.

when someone has their head so far up their , the only thing they can really see at thaat point is their . so i wont take offense that they dont see common sense as in this case.

kinda like that most interesting man in the world bit. "the safest street rider in the world." he doesn't have to honk his horn, people just move out of his way. He doesn't need a headlight, he glows in the dark. He never wrecks, because hes already avoided it.
