Ride to College Station...

Planning on taking a slow chill ride to College Station from 290 / 1960 with a friend on Sunday (weather permitting)

Any recommendations on nice routes up there?

Last week, a fellow rider told me that 3090 had had much road work done, and there was sand/gravel everywhere. It might be cleaned up by now, but just an FYI to watch out!
