Sorry my friend, but you have no right, constitutional or otherwise, to have a peaceful environment in your car. Your home? To an extent but not to the degree that you can expect no environmental noise.

Do you have a reasonable expectation of it? Sure, but that is a far cry from a right.

The reason is simple. The concept of a "peaceful environment" is purely subjective, and your rights do not extend to the control of others. When you live in a large city - and Houston is in the top 5 in the US - you're going to get noise. No way around it.

That's where things get sticky. Just because you may believe it is loud does not mean it is.

No, those things define you as simply a cop.

Diligence and attention to duty isn't the issue. Selective enforcement to satisfy your petty prejudices on the other hand....

Again, define "loud"? Just because you can hear it does not make it excessively loud.

The judge need not be liberal to realize that a citation written with nothing to support it but your own subjective opinion should be dismissed.

Seriously? You've already stated you'll happily violate the rights of citizens on your beat if they cross some subjective line on noise of which you've appointed yourself the supreme authority.

Thank you for so kindly identifying yourself. This will make it so much easier when the complaint is forwarded to your superior.

Granted, as we have all established previously, we know HPD will simply round-file it, but we can all use this thread as supporting evidence for our case when we get a ticket from you.

Really? Got proof of this claim? Bear in mind, it must be proof under TEXAS statute, not the made up ones in your head.

Honorsdaddy I was waiting for one of yall from the circus to swing in here, you believe what this guy is spewin?, "dismissed by a liberal judge", believes in laws for tickets but not the laws that protect the people. This is a fine example of why we have checks and balances and how power corrupts. Power trip much?

Yeah why would it match the bike? There are plenty of aftermarket exhaust that are Decibel compliant but I doubt they match anything on the bike.

Sup guys im new to MH, but IMO on loud pipes, I think every bike should have them for all those JACK on thier phones texting/talking which is almost every-other vehical in Houston! Sunday i was on my way from the Galleria and a JACKASS was talking on thier cell phone so I rolled up by him and let my Exhaust SCREAM in thier ear so they can notice me and I hoped they almost $h!+ on them self!..... Cause that could have been any of us riding and to get cut off by someone on a cell phone is complete BS and can result in a major accident or death! So when some of you guys are saying its point-less to have loud pipes and your asking for it, if you have them...thats just plain retarded IMO Its 100x's better to be noticed then to be invisable!!! FYI-->I am a safety tech and when you see something unsafe, make a corrective action so your fellow riders wonte be in danger,so let that exhaust scream in thier ear to get numb nutts attention, not only to save yourself but others And WWFII, you couldnt of said that better about the clothing!!!!!

Then Honda was not in compliance in 2009 because I purchased two new 09s from two different dealerships and neither had a label on the pipe

So let me get this straight, someone was driving, talking on their cell phone, but did not come into your lane or cut you off or anything, you just decided since they were on a cell phone, and presumably not in a school zone where it would be illegal, you went next to their window and unnecessarily pegged your throttle to make your exhaust scream? If so, that's retarded. Sure glad Mr. Holstclaw is over there in that area to show you what's up.
