Why are you making this personal. I said some people. I'm just posing a scenario. Doesn't have anything to do with me

My question to you is "So WHAT"
My reply would be, grow up. We can start a new thread to explore neccessary vs un-necessary use of physical violence vs the freedom of speech in another thread if we really need to. This particular thread is for bikes & noise pollution.

Seriously! Let us get back on-topic.

With the statistics I posted above, you just call me an idiot for not knowing anything.

You still have not answered why EMERGENCY vehicles have sirens that can disrupt the health of citizens.

So, let me ask you this question, because I want to hear this directly from you. You seem to dance around my questions for some reason.

Out of the February 2010 statistics I posted, which of those led to the arrest of an suspect by YOU that was initially stopped by YOU for a noise-abatement violation of a motorcycle?

I am willing to bet that number will be zero.

I find it strange that the residents of your district are more concerned with you controlling noise-abatement rather than attempt to halt all the crimes in your area.

Also, when did police get the authority to visit vehicles on private property -- in a parking-lot as you suggested -- and begin writing citations for noise-abatement of vehicles without stock exhaust?

I dont see the logic, we are all responsible for what we say or type no matter the where it happens at.

i fail to see what racer X has said that would warrent his face being "fuct up"

i do see how you have some mental issues if you let a forum you off so much that you want to resort to violence. one of these days you may take a go at someone from the internet that you off and you'll end up 6 feet under... be careful who you decide to take a swing at.

but on topic... I agree with him wrinting the tickets for the loud exhausts. I do find them annoying when i have to ride or drive behind them... I can't enjoy myself because of some other obnoxious person. people put loud pipes on their rides because they want to be noticed... you can't pick or choose who notices you only when it's convenient for you. I do however feel that the noise ticket should not be a judgement call and should always require the use of a noise meter

At the end we are both still alive and come away with more information about the other than we had when we started.
Yea, and some believe there is more honor in a pistol duel. I think it's silly (besides being against the law) to get physical over words.

No, but wars have been avoided by it. War, combat, violence should one of the last recourse, not the first. <shrug> a verbal discourse can have the same path and resolution as a physical engagement, it requires a bit more intelligence and wit.

These warrants stem from family violence/assault to narcotics to sexual assault to felons in possession of a firearm/ATF and ICE/deportation warrants. An officer who faithfully concentrates on traffic stops and knows what he is looking for can make a serious impact in his area in reducing crime. It's very difficult to catch the hijacker or the burglar during the commission of the crime but collected evidence that results in a to-be warrant often leads to an arrest of the individual down the road in a simple traffic stop, probably more so than actual service of the warrant at a designated location. Traffic stops are unpredictable and very dangerous. There are members of this blog that simply hate cops, especially a cop such as myself that tells you guys that your loud pipes are disrespectful and illegal. Houston is a haven for various forms if illegality and I personally believe that HPD has looked the other way far too long. I am not discouraged and will stand against this ever increasing onslaught of vehicular nuisance in my City...I can't do it alone but I will do my very best. It's a shame that societal morality has plummeted to such a degree and the respect for our fellowman is faltering exponentially with each passing generation.

The way you ride reflects what's going on in your inner man...your disrespect for others via loud and unreasonable exhaust noise is symptomatic of a disrespectful individual. Thank you trdvet for a reasonable and thoughtful post..perhaps there is hope. Rick HPD

Sounds like a plan to me, just please pull over all the ricers with there annoying fart cans while your at it.
