Someone's going to have a little talk with this douchenozzle when he's not in uniform some day... Can't say I feel sorry for him...

Not saying its going to be me...just saying that he catches the wrong guy on the wrong day and...well... happens.

my thing is I work DT I pass cops on a daily basis, where I park my bike there are cops crawling all over the place. I have never even got a sideways look talk about get with. Today getting on the HOV lane there were cops checking to make sure no one was riding by themselves and the moto cop actually waved at me while I was on the throttle so why is this clown who isn't even in his patrol area messing with me? maybe cause he saw my MH stickers?

Same here. I park my bike right in front of the commerce building in UH Downtown where a lot of cops walk in and out. I have not one cop talk to me about my exhaust. One cop, however, came up to me and gave me a warning not to park my bike right next to the bicycle stands because other cops might give me a ticket

Good question.. the HPD org chart shows a M. E. Lentshike as the Captain for the Westside division. J. H. Chen as the assistant Chief for West Patrol Command.

For complaints in general...
Quote:
How Do I Make A Complaint?
State law requires that complaints involving police officers be sworn under oath and notarized. For your convenience, a complaint form can be printed from the attached link titled “Complaint Sworn Affidavit.” Complaints against members of the Houston Police Department may be initiated in person to a supervisor at any police substation throughout the City of Houston, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. They may also be made in person at the Internal Affairs/Central Intake Office, which is open Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (except during City holidays). The Internal Affairs/Central Intake Office is located at Police Headquarters, 1200 Travis, Suite 2001, Houston, Texas, 77002. Further information on filing a complaint can be obtained by contacting the Central Intake Office at (713) 308-0040 or by contacting any police substation or supervisor.

btw folx it MIGHT be worth checking with the MFG of your aftermarket exhaust. :-)

Ex:
Quote:
Type-approval
3.a) Are MIVV systems equipped with a removable db-killer?
- All road type-approved MIVV systems are equipped with a removable db-killer. Some quad systems, included in the STRONGER line, are not equipped with db-killer because its removal would cause loss to the performance.
3.b) Is the registration of changes required on the registration document in order the type-approval be effective?
- No. The type-approval number only, stamped on the muffler, is required to attest the type-approval of the muffler. Furthermore, MIVV delivers with the kit a relevant certificate to produce in case of check.
3.c) I missed the type-approval certificate. How can I have a duplicate?
- You simply have to get in touch with the customer service at customerservice@mivv.it and specify you motorcycle model as well as the type-approval code stamped on the exhaust. The copy of the certificate will be sent immediately by e-mail.
3.d) Are MIVV exhaust systems type-approved for the emission of pollutants?
- Our systems are type-approved both for sound emissions (Directive 97/24/EC, article 9) and for the emission of pollutants (Directive 97/24/EC, article 5) Systems fitted with a catalytic converter are available for most of motorcycle models which can be distinguished by the "e-kat" type-approval. For further information on available systems fitted with a catalytic converters, get in touch with our Customer Service at customerservice@mivv.it

Whomever has had a problem with this guy or wouldn't like to see his harassment stop should go to the Dam Icehouse today between 12 - 4. Don't want to put too many details, because this is a public forum (meaning he or one of his buddies can read this too). Everyone that has a cam on your bike or helmet should show up too. MAKE SURE your papers (tags, inspection, DL) are in order, because if not you run the risks. I know this is during his shift. The more bikes that show, the better. Try to keep groups small. Like 2 - 3 but let's pack the house.

Well I had the opportunity to meet Officer Rick Holtsclaw yesterday morning. I was on my 2005 Harley Davidson Ultra Classic traveling down Hwy 6 near Westheimer at approximately 6:30am. It was Saturday morning, I was traveling with a group of approximately 5 cars and I was pulled over. Officer Holtsclaw approached my motorcycle and immediately said "those Vance and Heines pipes are not legal and I am pulling you over for loud exhaust". He then lectured me on how loud pipes make the rest of the biker community look bad. He stated he just sold his 30th Motorcycle so he has been riding all his life. I am an Ex Motorcycle Police Officer and currently a MSF (Motorcycle Safety Foundation) Rider Coach Motorcyel Safety Instructor.
I will definately be fighting this one in court. I would love to hear from anyone who has already gone to court with this Holy Roller
