Is it possible to call some State agency and have them bring the street-sweepers out there? Call and complain that the streets are too dangerous.

It will just come back. I think the source is fresh grit spread in the birms. Everytime a car goes wide or custs a corner short, it will kick some back up. It's not that bad at reasonable speed. Just bring extra underwear.
