Oil Inspection Window - Something missing?

I have a 2009 Gixxer 750. I may be wrong, but it looks like a part or something is missing on my oil inspection window. (not oil) For those of you that have this bike, does your window look the same as mine. If not, I need to contact the dealership I bought it from.

It may be difficult to see what I'm talking about in the photo, it may be easier to see it in person. I'll have to look at another bike when I go back to the dealership.

Click on photos for larger image.

Thanks for your help.

is the bike tilted over on it's kick stand or straight up and down?

My window looks identical to yours; however, you should see oil in the window. To check the oil, the bike should be standing -- not on the kickstand.

Exactly I'm trying to figure out if there is a finishing piece that may be missing. It just looks like unfinished and odd.

Note: I am aware on how to check my engine oil...thanks!

You might be missing something. Going from memory, the rim should have marks notating full and low on the oil. I will take a photo of my bike tomorrow morning and display it on the site.

That would make sense. I do have that on my 04 gixxer 600. Can't wait to figure this out. Thanks.

Your bike comes with a sidecar and dipstick? I am so envious!

My bike has an odometer with "two" trip meters, a clock, and fuel-guage. Top that!

One of my two trip meters resets automatically with each fill-up, plus it indicates average mpg and current mpg

I was gonna say that... 'tis a pretty cool feature... although I would prefer a sight glass over a dip-stick.

I'm old, it's hard for me to bend over and look in a glass
