In that case, stick to a major brand: Bridgestone, Pirelli, Dunlop or Michelin.

You won't go wrong either way. Get something "Sport Touring" oriented, as these will last you longer. If you get the "Hypersport" or "Sport" tires, they grip great, but they also wear out faster.

i'm looking too, have a 09R1 w/stock tire. Looking at the Dunlop Sportmax Q2 and Metzeler Sportec M5, but would like to get more than 3k miles too. Would anyone change from tire size from 190/55 to a 190/50 or 180.

Not too sure on the M. Pilot 2ct. I remember hearing something around 06-07, they had some problems with speed rating.
